Little sympathy from me...........bored with it all.

1. They will go into admin, cheat on their debt, rob local businesses and be relegated.
2. Announce new ambitious owner over the Summer. Maybe the local ice cream tsar or a strip club owner, maybe a 28yr old (football loving) property developer, or maybe the usual mystery consortium.
3. Spend, spend spend......football league here we come. Players put up in marina appartments.
4. Get promoted and just miss out on Conf play-offs.
5. Owner upset at criticism. Reveals money was a loan afterall.
6. Cycle starts again.

Maybe Vics could go for somebody who will achieve in an area where Mr King failed - somebody who could pursuade Daryl Clare to sign for them (yes Mr King, did say he went for DC recently).

Surely it makes sound business sense.......well it would to anybody running Vics.

And we've players that get paid

And our defence is sh*t hot

And our young chav's only turn up once in a blue moon

And we don'e owe AFC Telford any money

And we've got an electrical generator

And best of all we've got 24 points more than them  ;D

Stuck at work, bored and pedantic...................we don't have an electrical generator, we are supplied with power via the  electricity distribution network (UUE)

Not a game played at Moss Lane, but the last snow- covered pitch I remember us playing on was away at Stafford on Boxing Day 2004.

I seem to recall two over-sized santas being in the Alty and that day too! I wonder who they could have been?  :D

One of those santa's was Mr Flynn, but I am sure you knew that..........I recall the Alty supporters (and some players) only got there 15 mins before kick-off due to an accident on the M6.
I recall Scotty complaining that his feet were numb running around in 4 inch of snow chasing an orange ball

According to the Vics forum, they were charged £2500 for the game at Moss Lane - and lost money on it!
How? 400*10 = £4000. Unless a load of kids were in the 438.

It's not that simple though, Don't forget the season ticket holders!

And the need to pay the match officials (not cheap), the doctor on call and the stewards and turnstile staff (yes, they get paid too - so we should be grateful to the volunteers that carry out these tasks so well at Moss Lane)

I know I keep going on about this but for Alty's sake can we please stop blaming match officials for everything.

Simply put - don't foul or show dissent and you WILL NOT get a booking.

Really very easy as a concept isn't it and if the players I referee on a Sunday can get it why the hell can't semi professionals and the intelligencia who watch Alty?

Simple answer and I'm sorry if I offend anybody - it's a bloody easy cop out to blame all the inefficiency, ineffectiveness and lack of discipline on somebody else!

Rant over (and I know it's just cost me any chance whatsoever of sponsorship for the run in May)

ATS - I agree but it's the inconsistency of the refs that gets up fans' noses.

For example, I popped down to watch the Vics/Histon game for the last quarter yesterday. Vics were already down to 10 men but holding Histon quite easily - Histon were pants!

Aimless ball played through by Histon for Wright to chase. Tynan shepherds the ball out for a goal kick but gets flattened into the Golf Road hoardings for his troubles by a frustrated Wright. 6 minute delay and Tynan gets stretchered off to be replaced by Clarke. No action taken by the ref on Wright. Could have been red. Next minute, Wright, who might not have been on the pitch, is clear down the right and delivers a telling cross for Simpson to head pass a "cold" Clarke ih the first minute of 8 minutes of injury time.

Histon have now come alive and batter the Vics defence and score in the eighth and last minute of injury time.

It was a bit like this year's Alty/Rushden game at home. Mr Joyce sends off Shaun for his first challenge of the game on Bolasie, who went down as if he had been shot but made a miraculous recovery within minutes to flatten poor Robbie. Bolasie only gets a yellow and Robbie's out of action for over two months. Mr. Joyce's decisions influenced the Rushden game that day just as the Vics/Histon ref did today.

I too saw the incident with Tynan......Histon's Wright had every right to go for the ball and unfortunately the keeper was injured as a result. At no point did the Vics players surround the ref and protest about the challenge.......anyway according to Mr King, the new keeper Clarke is the best in non-league and coming on 'cold' is not much different to starting a game

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Anyone going to Moss Lane on Saturday
« on: January 16, 2009, 05:14:23 PM »
The fact that we've helped vics out is a nice gesture, but there's no way on this earth that any true fan of Alty would want to contribute to their funds and watch 2 awful footballing teams in the process.

If somebody invited me in for free tomorrow, i'd still decline..

In fact it still doesn't sit right that they're playing at Moss Lane as the home team in the first place... Especially as we're only going to make a pittance out of it..

I know i'm ranting and it goes against what most other Alty fans are saying, but I just can't be gratious to NVFC! Sorry....

Agree totally.

I may well take photographs of any known Alty supporters seen paying to enter Moss Lane tomorrow and then shame them publicly....

Anyone going to the game as a volunteer eg sweeper upper, glass collector etc needs to stop at the fancy dress shop opposite National Tyre on Oldfield Rd to pick up their disguise.
Alternatively I suggest the worlds best known disguise i.e plastic Groucho Marx moustache, nose, glasses and eyebrows, available from all reputable joke shops for approx 99p

Maybe a red and white based kit with 'Heyrod' on the front (assuming Jenny can find it beneath the stands) !

I don't think we ever got the best out of him and there could be many reasons for that, but I guess we will never know the answer.

I know his partner is due to give birth in the near future and maybe that matter and the travelling from Bradford has also had some bearing on his decision.

Seemed a decent enough bloke so all the best to him.

I will just say that my banks that I owe. I am sure they will understand. I am surprised the government hasn't bailed the Vics out.

In a way the Government has already bailed them out.............firstly the HMRC have let them accumulate such a large debt over several years. Something they would not let you and I do. We have to pay up on time. How they allow some clubs' not to send in to them players income tax and NI contributions is absolutely mind blowing
Then they have let them defer the re-payments of this large debt (which to be fair they let Alty do as well) and now they have let Vics default on those payments (which is something Alty DID NOT do). When Admin comes, they will then let them off the payments because they will be unable to collect it!!!

Not sure they have actually defaulted on the tax repayments though.

I thought they (NV) were recently issued with a winding up order by HMRC due to late payments. I also thought it was adjourned because Vics promised to pay the latest installment very soon. I could be wrong though.

Good luck Val.
Val joined Altrincham after a 'lay-off' from football. After a period in the reserves he fought his way back into first team football and went on to be a major contributor to Altrincham's return to the national stage..........a role model to all young footballers
