The crowd yesterday was surprisingly low. I thought the game had all the atmosphere of pre-season friendly apart from the odd ten minutes.

Something needs to change. We need every single Alty fan pulling behind the club. No one person is bigger than the club.

Did you start many songs to assist the atmosphere?  The game went dead for half an hour in the second half as it was won, the atmosphere struggled a bit at the start whilst they threw everything at us but certainly picked up after 20 mins (see lower down this post)

I'm pretty sure there was a mistake somewhere on the attendance as that did not look like 880 to me, certainly nearer a thousand with 10 away fans.

People are entitled to celebrate how they like and to the degree that they like.  Whilst there is no doubt that winning the league was the expectation and it looks like we will now, I feel that the players and management have done extremely well to keep it going as we have seen on the last few games, teams are very keen to beat us and have nothing lo lose if they gamble and don't achieve it.

Whilst it may have been the expectation and budgets and crowds say we should do it as we know it doesn't always work like that.

If you support a football team, regardless of your opinions of things off the field, and you aren't pleased when they win matches and a league then you've surely lost your focus?

Two and a half years of depression and poor off the field decisions and PR gaffes have meant we have lost some supporters.  They are slowly being replaced by spectators. If we weren't doing well they would be replaced by no-one.

There is a huge difference between the two.  It takes a long time to turn these people into supporters, get them involved in the atmosphere and start to build a passion and a love for the place.

I hope that we can do that, get supporters back as well and push on together.  There are many clubs that would swop with us right now...

Whilst broadly agreeing, let's not forget that many of us mocked Boreham Wood when they went full time, and they're now looking at National League play offs.  And when Accrington bloody Stanley got out of NWCL1 in 86/7, who saw THEM looking at the third tier next season ? We're in the gutter now, and we SHOULD be staring at the stars, then aiming for them. No ambition, no progress.

Completely agree with those aspirations,... the problem has always been affording them  Cheesy Wink Undecided

Too right Foden. If only the football club was up for sale for us to talk about to the outside world, and we werenít being held back by the mindset of a few still living in 2003.

If only...

If only,....  the area was full of multi millionaire benefactors who didnt mind not being millionaires much longer  Shocked

If only,... you would see something positive the club does/has done,...

Good night

Lancaster keeper was young fella who had a storma for Abbey Hey at Moss Lane in the FAC - looks like he kept em out

Also think Barrows win tonight relegated Chester ?

Chester were relegated on saturday, Barrow might yet escape?

It's called free speech uncle

Yes everything that is wrong is all my fault, nothing to do with the state of the club of course. Just me

Free speech is one thing, attacking others, including some who are supposedly your friends, is an entirely different matter.

Two successive admins/moderators on here have thrown their hands up in despair and given up largely down to your online behaviour. Unfortunately, your sometimes valid and reasonable points are lost amongst a sea of irrational bile. Your ability for reasoned online debate seems to be on a par with that of the Birch brothers.

Many who actually have the same opinion of the state of the club as you, those you have labelled "happy clappy morons", have been actively involved in trying to bring about change. What have you done? You were involved in the walk out, which is fair enough. You continue to stay away from home games, which is also fair enough and you post incessant, barely coherent or logical at times rants on here. Your irrational postings have actually done more to harm the 'Rowley Out' campaign than the most fervent Rowley supporter. You have enabled the club to tar the whole campaign with your irrational brush and label us all as the lunatic fringe.

In person you seem totally different, it's a real Jekyll and Hyde scenario.

Anyway, there's an important game today, so COME ON ALTY.

Agree entirely with the last 2/3 posts here. I recently contributed to a long article in a national football fanzine about us and our various off pitch issues and like many on this thread am convinced without change at board level that the divisions as seen on here daily will not heal & long term nothing will really change at the club. However, at the same time I can appreciate the magnificent winning football being served up and the team PP & Neil Sorvel have created.

I think many of us know there is primarily one person on here (and also repeatedly on the Evostik Facebook) who with his constant sniping and repetitive tone just exacerbates divisions, offers nothing constructive (Ďarsedí) and delights in riling people up and then plays the innocent card afterwards. Odd because Iíd imagine virtually every regular poster on here knows and has chatted with him at the match. A lot of us want change but there is a way to debate & show respect towards others.
Yeah nice article, one where you didn't even mention 51% of the club was up for sale? Talk about making a gaff

Listen instead of trying to have a pop at me and making me a scapegoat, you talk about exacerbates divisions you talk about debate and showing respect?

Why not have a pop at the director who said stay away fans can f**k off? Quite frankly I think its one of the most disgraceful things I've ever heard. Yet you and others on here quite happy to brush it under the carpet and have a pop at me instead?

If you think this is just me then your deluded, my only fault is I live in hope that one day of getting our club back. Maybe I should follow the lead of others and totally switch off until that happens

Yes please do, that would be a most positive step Grin

My understanding is the disenfranchised want Rowley out, no chance of reconciliation, not eat humble pie etc.
So shares made available and until someone better is found we will just have to make the best of it wont we.

In the meantime, a thread about how well we played last night has been hijacked again by the usual negative few because the club doing well doesnt suit their own agenda.
I would suggest its in Rowley's and therefore the Club's interest to try and bring back the disenfranchised rather than the other way round. There are also many supporters that still attend matches but who's patience is wearing thin.
Shares have been made available but there seems to be little effort in finding a buyer.
The thread was hijacked because a Director abused supporters, something that seems to be coming familiar.

That is an acusation made by Mr negative, who wasnt even there just because there was something positive to say about the club, he will squash any such notion as it doesnt suit his agenda.
If this forum had a moderator who wanted a fair balanced debate this nonsense would be edited out,... lets see what happens next  Shocked

Offer us an alternative then  Embarrassed

How about one that doesn't treat loyal paying customers with contempt?

You still havent put forward an alternative, must try harder.
In the meantime, do you want them to walk away and leave nobody running the club?

Advertising the club and the role to the outside world may be a good starting point

Isnt that what the Sports Business have been engaged to do and shares made available by the club,... ?

Can't remember the last time I saw Alty play this well in the 1st half. Understandable that they were unable to maintain that level in the 2nd half. Agree with one of the earlier posts about the crowd tonight, really disappointing to be below 600 with the level of football being played this season.
Yes but nobody arsed though, another appalling crowd tonight, crowds going backwards? The stay away fans from those boycotting more noticeable at these midweek games when tickets aren't given away

Were you there last night?
