Oldham tickets are now live for season ticket holders and loyalty members. You should have been emailed a unique link to purchase this morning. Don’t hang about as general sale starts at 9am tomorrow

A brave battle fought for 13 years. By a warrior, and a leader of men from a bygone football age. Rest well mark x

Might I suggest that a table selling cans of real
Ale is deployed in the fanzone at half time to ease congestion. Decent cans and a stack of plastic glasses. They will fly out if people don’t want to queue for the actual
Hand pull bar.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Coach travel to woking
« on: August 02, 2023, 09:03:32 AM »
Morning 👋

We’re working with the club to hopefully provide an away coach to Woking on 12th August, but we can’t move forward and book the coach unless the demand is high enough.

Right now we’re still a little short on numbers, so please do fill in the attached form ASAP if you’d like to travel to Woking by coach.

It will cost £35-50 depending on numbers, which is substantially cheaper than the £110-£140 rail fare via Trainline.

This is a club approved service and payment would be taken securely through the club website.

Please fill the below in ASAP 👇

Before the Dagenham game the fanzone will have a sail roof in place over the decked area and also a roof around the side, and the toilets are going in behind the kiosks. It should be brilliant when it’s done.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Club Crest
« on: July 07, 2023, 03:42:40 PM »
I'd love to know when we first started using the current crest. People talk as if it's been part of our heritage for decades but I'm not sure how true that is. Personally I would like to see us in time move to a new crest that is a specific Alty FC design rather than the fiddly and fusty one we have now.

http://www.civicheraldry.co.uk/cheshire_pre74.html

I think that this should answer your question. My own opinion of the Crest/COA (Coat of Arms) is that it lacks any modern day relevance and quite frankly, I think that it is somewhat unattractive and disappointing to the eye.  The heraldic creatures are particularly ugly looking. It wasn't even commissioned for the Club - we just nicked it and used it after it was granted to the as was then Altrincham Borough Council in 1937.

Altrincham Borough Council ceased to be in 1974 and the Crest/COA was retired.  Ironically our 1974/75 cup run heralded arguably the best period in the Club's history.  I wonder how many other Football clubs maintain a defunct local government Coat of Arms as such an important club icon.

Now then, The motto 'ALTRINCHAM EN AVANT' meaning  'ALTRINCHAM LEADS THE WAY' I would keep as it does still relate and would be an ideal nod to the past.

I would like to suggest that the Club goes for a new Club Crest and it would be good opportunity to engage with supporters and open a competition for designs and ideas. If a prototype design was adopted by this means a couple of season tickets would be a great prize.

Interesting stuff, although it doesn't answer the question of when we (ie the football club) started using the crest, I don't think?

It first appeared on clubs kits in 1992 or 1993
