I would imagine all the pumps locally are in use pumping out peoples houses and flooded roads. Think we need a little perspective here, this is not normal weather in the area, its extreme. Many roads are blocked and impassable.

The brook behind the ground has now breached the bank and flowing over the bridge to the golf course. The culvert is at least 2 foot higher than on Sunday by the ground almost to path level. nowhere for the water to go at present.

I am sure the club will do what it can to get the game on.

I tend to agree, although this sort of weather is becoming more common, whatever Donald Trump and co. might say. Hearing stories of flooding in Poynton, there are greater immediate priorities for any pumps.
The forecast is better for the next few days, and I can see a bit of blue sky now, so I certainly don't give up hope for Saturday, but, maybe, donning my tin hat, we do need to consider that 4G pitch in the longer term.

I can confirm your stories of flooding in poynton. I left wythenshawe hospital at just after 4pm to take a (Macc fan home and away) person back to rainow, it took three and a half hours to get to rainow and I am still not back home (Wilmslow). Cars abandoned in adlington and the outskirts of poynton and Macc the A537 is floooded in both directions. Iíve had to come over the tops towards Whaley bridge and should be finally home in 20 mins. No excuses for the game not to be on its dry as a bone now. Except for all
The inland seas 😂

I appreciate the issue in the main is drainage, but considering the forecasts would it be an idea to get the surface water off the problem area as soon as possible. Possibly hiring/borrowing some super soppers from lccc and the getting the area covered for the rest of the week? Pulling the covers back if we get any sun. Also if help is needed please keep communicating and donít just ask for help at 2pm on Friday.

Should prove a decent work out as should Saturday, would like to see more of Walters and Chadwick. Thought both were excellent on Saturday. Also the change of formation was interesting as it caused Blackpool problems and we could have had three second half goals with a bit more luck. What chance us scoring a goal against Stockport this time.

Brilliant work well done. This will keep not only the tinkers out but also fly tippers of which there have been a considerable number in recent times

A minor point of interest: Atherton's former Preston North End and St Johnstone defender Clive Smith is Timperley based.

Probably also the youngest person called Clive smith in the world

Serious Issue, it was a disaster last time. Iíve put the fencing back up this afternoon that has been pulled down that was surrounding the container at the end of the car park. The council need to get out and fix that hight barrier urgently or theyíll be on there for the summer.

On John legh park. The car park  barrier needs putting in place today for when they get moved on. The last thing we need is Reggie blinkers on the car park for the York game or all the scaffolding gone

The new fans' club, Bangor 1876, are competing in the fifth tier Gwynedd League this season, and will be based at Treborth Playing Fields, which looks to be by the Menai Strait, a bit further out from the centre than Nantporth, where City play.

Fair play to them. With this news does this mean the allocations for the new third tier have now been announced?
45  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Whitchurch - Match Thread on: July 04, 2019, 08:39:49 PM
If anyone is travelling to Whitchurch by train on Saturday be advised that thereís no trains running from altrincham to Stockport itís a rail replacement bus. Also itís cheaper if you split your tickets and get the bulk of the journey from Wilmslow to Whitchurch at 14.90 return as opposed to 29.40 from altrincham. Metrolink to town for trains to Whitchurch

Are you sure? I think it's only the last train which is replaced by a bus this Saturday, although there are a couple of Saturday, and more Sunday, closures to come.

As for the team, I would hope and expect some of the younger players to get a run out, following their decent performance against the first team on Saturday.

You are quite right I was looking on the date of Gloucester away, my apologies
