7816  General Category / Altrincham FC First Team / Northwich apply for administration.............AGAIN on: October 16, 2007, 04:42:30 PM
MIKE CONNETT has applied to take Northwich Victoria into administration.

If successful the club will not be wound up at the High Court tomorrow, Wednesday.

The Vics owner said this afternoon it was the only way to save the struggling club, which owes more than 350,000 in unpaid taxes.

"We are working tirelessly towards saving this football club," he said in a statement.

"The club will then be sold to a consortium headed by leisure businessman Jim Rushe if the administration order is accepted.

"I am personally doing all I possibly can to make this possible.

"If we can pull this off, Northwich Victoria, although in administration, will be saved.

"But even if we do succeed, it should not disguise the facts.

"And the facts are that this club needs home attendances of 1,500 just to break even and we are well short of that.

"If Northwich wants a football club the local community needs to support it - and so do local businesses.

"I would urge the supporters' trust to stop mischief making over the coming days and months.

"We can save this club."

The usual penalty for a football club entering administration is an automatic 10-point deduction, which will mean almost automatic relegation from the top tier of non-league football for Vics.

However the Guardian has learned that the club would not be relegated further as part of any punishment doled out by the Football Conference

After a study their results so far this season, I come to assume that we have a chance to take something away from this game, let us hope it will be three points. They've lost four on the spin now and have at least two players out through suspension on saturday, lets go there and get something.

How about a pre-season tournament between Alty, Macc, AFC Vics and Runcorn Linnets?

Thats the best Idea Ive heard in ages, could make money for vics/linnets via football card, raffle, bucket collect etc.

SATURDAY
AFC Vics v Runcorn Linnets at 1pm
Alty v Macc Town 3pm

SUNDAY
3/4 place playoff 1pm
FINAL 3pm

The bar could be open all the way through, sell tickets that are valid for either every match or just for single matches, get it well publicised, and advertise very early on and you would attract ground hoppers from all over with the prospect of four matches in just over24 hours on the same ground.Plus you would get some medka attention as its usually only your big clubs that have "tournements". Briliant idea.

So none of them look like coming, roll on the next friendly great value for 2, I enjoyed last night, I think these reserve/friendly games work well, especially with the bar staying open during the game, so you can nip in for ten minutes if your bored cold  Grin

THe north/south split is alway roughly from "the avon to the wash" so if you draw a diagonal line up from approx gloucester up to kings lynn, you have the traditional border for the split in cup draws, Some clubs on the border like rushden, kiddy, hereford etc hop between in the two in various years depending on numbers and the geography of the other teams still in the competitoin.
