Robbie was having a fit on Saturday with all the poor passing. Everytime a ball was played through to him and went out, he kept yelling "It's f**king gone out AGAIN!!!!!!" I know you shouldn't laugh as we were playing so bad, but it was funny to see someone totally lose the plot everytime a ball whizzed over his head and go out

Peopel are questioning the release of Pottsy and the lack of wingers within the squad, In regards to Pottsy, although he is a great footballer he is blatently not fit and is definetly not trying to get fit. I have watched in a few reserve games and he was half arsed walking around making no attempt to even move half speed (a jog so to release him was a great idea. now although we actually have no winger in the squad at present i think he will be looking but as you have seen there not easy to find as we know.
Completely agree that it was time for Pottsy to go. When he came on against... Burton(?) he was terrible, couldn't run, passing was poor and again looked completely disinterested.
Whilst in an ideal world 2 wingers would be great, I'd settle just for 2 (or even just 1!) out and out wide midfield player (not necessarily a winger). For too long we've had to play with 2 central midfielders playing out of position wide and had to rely on the fullbacks for any crosses/width
Where these players are going to come from I have no idea

My questions was really based on the fact of will we be likely to get any new recruits in January to boost the squad.
The season is certainly not over, but we have to improve further hopefully this will happen and believe me I will be singing and pushing the lads on to victory as much as the next fan.
What is more worrying Macc are starting to win, damn I so want to play the scum again.
Completely agree. I haven't seen anyone say that they're not going to get behind the lads just because we've slipped into the bottom 4. I don't think there's any harm in talking about if/how we can improve, where new signings are going to come from etc.

I don't think Coburn is as perfect as is often made out. His kicking can be wayward and he does have a tendancy to go a-roaming/run out willy nilly. Yes, he's a good shot stopper and he's saved us a number of times, but he's not infallible

I have read the comments above and would like to ask the following questions :-
1) Have our results this season improved?
2) Are we getting thumped 5-0 regularly?
3) Are we playing better football?
4) Are we improving all over the field from last year?
5) Are the crowds improving?
6) Had we played 2 up front against Burton would we have got beat by more than 2-3?
7) How often do you think the tactics we play are incorrect?
8 ) Joe O'Neill for captain, were people not calling for his head not so long ago?
9) We should play Thomson, unproven in the Conference, against a team who are now in third place?
10) Should we have guest beers in the club house? - sorry couldnt think of a good 10th question.
Come on guys get a grip of the bad comments and think about the improvements.
I am not saying our league position is not worrying. It is getting critical, and we now need 6 points from Northwich and Kiddy. This is acheiveable. If we can score 2 against Burton with one up front at home, then I am sure we can get a few against Vics and Kiddy - I hope you get my point here.
I repeat I was not at the game, the above are just general questions perhaps we should remind ourselves of.
Those points are valid, but just out of interest, does anyone know what points we had at this point last year?
From what I remember, after a couple of duff months last year, we picked it up after Robinson came and went on a good run. This year, we won't have that individual who can make the difference (unless Thompson comes good), so we really need to make every home game count and this means playing 2 up front.

« on: November 29, 2006, 09:24:37 AM »Frank sidebottom apparentlhy wanted to come down to the club to do some filming this week for granada soccer nite, no i know how much people dislike the guy on here but surely this would heve been a good thing to get cameras at the ground and to get the club albeit and sidebottom some airtime on a tv show which attracts local fans who may off the back of it think 'hey xyz are playing away today i'll go down and see alty cos i saw em on soccernite on thursday' i dunno but this is my thinking behind it, a bad move because if it gets mentioned on the show that we 'refused entry' or something along those lines it could actually turn out to be quite damaging for us,
What happened? Was it something he just thought of doing or did he actually come down and we got all flouncy?
In my opinion, we need all the (good) publicity we can get.
