Basically if you say anything that people disagree with, they will give you a 'Peake' or a -, but if you tow the line and agree you will get a + :)

Agree with Jimmy. It would make us a laughing stock if we banned them because a few fans didn't like it. Boo hoo. Sing over the drum and ignore it. The constant griping over an instruments at games is getting ridiculous. Concentrate on our team/fans etc, not what the other lot are doing.

No really, that was his name.

Really? God, that name doesn't ring a bell at all :D

Cheers!  ;D

I don't know, maybe he was just a figment of my imagination ;)

Thanks :)

Wasn't Steve Cross a midget... erm, short?  :)

There's another full back that for the life of me I can't remember his name. All I remember is he was short, dark-haired, a full back and Scouse. After searching through the Alty website I still have no idea who he was  :-\

CB..did you watch a different game to me.  On at least six occasions that I can recall JOe held it up with his chest or feet.  Was I seeing things?

Does holding it up consist of him trying to control the ball on his chest with his arms resulting in the ball bouncing off to the opposition, or maybe having the ball at his feet and him falling to the ground because he's too lightweight to withstand another player coming within a couple of feet of him?

So yeah, I think you were seeing things  :-\

I agree. Is anyone else worried that we're only 2 points off a relegation place with 1 win in 8? It's all very well laughing at Northwich & Macc but we desperately need to start playing well and getting some wins. Just because we have a better squad than last year shouldn't mean that we shouldn't be extremely wary about our position in the hope that 'we're too good to go down'.

Please explain what Joe O'Neil did wrong yesterday to warrant being took off after an hour ?

He should have been taken off at half time. He cannot control the ball! Everytime he had the ball at his feet, a challenge doesn't even have to come in and he falls over and loses the ball. For the life of me I cannot understand why people say he can control the ball. He's bloody awful. I'm not in the minority either. Where I stand everyone was saying the same thing - why can't he stay on his feet or pass the ball?? He needs to bulk up so he doesn't get knocked over too easily or learn how to kick with a little more power than it takes to kick a balloon.

Ver sad news :( I knew of Steve from when he sold his flat in Sale about 7/8 years ago through the estate agents I worked at. Nice chap.

It turned out to be a good night in the York City Social Club - it was nice to see a sprinkling of Alty fans there, contributing to the banter.

Take a look at York Minstermen's online review.

Love the thought of a load of York/Grimsby etc fans singing "The only team for me, is Altrincham FC"  ;D

Pesimistic as ever, I think it will be a 2-0 loss, although it will be a much improved Alty performance.

Away attendance 153 :)

Andy Green and Ken McKenna up front definitely - although they would probably play very few games together due to various suspensions  :D

Would also include Danny Adams - class :)

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: The Joe O'Neill Dilemma

I agree our attacking options are poor, but I still think that anyone could do just as good, if not a better job, than O'Neil. Just my opinion of course. As Daycare Dan said I would also like to see Little & Thompson up front :)

I did mention in my post on the other thread that the midfield were nowhere. After saying Peyton had a good game against Southport, he was extremely poor yesterday, as was Chalmers. I've never been a fan of Aspinall but as he's top scorer he's doing ok ;)  I may have 'picked on' Joe, but it's been building up over the last few games and seeing him consistently lose the ball yesterday made me completely lose my patience with him.

Of course, if he scores a hat trick next week my opinon may change ;)

Thanks for all the minuses guys - just because we disagree I get a negative. Cheers!  ::)

I can't see who else would be playing other than Joe.

So what would your starting two up front have been yesterday ?

Alongside Rod, probably Kieran or Pat.
