The best goalie in the squad should have been picked and the ironic thing is that he probably wont even get a game ..... Joe Hart

Carragher to slow. Wright Phillips clueless, King Injured and Barry not fit...

It doesnt look too good does it

Quite the howlerl though with the save later at least he showed he's capable of more.

And I can't remember Stu doing anything of the sort!  :)

VofD,

All I have to say to you is Frank Haffey and Alan Rough......

These things happen from time to time to most keepers, it's just a shame when it's on a big stage. If it hadn't happened and he'd been beaten by the later effort when he saved well no one would be saying a word.

The USA are very underrated, not the fools of years ago. Most of their squad play in top leagues in Europe.....ok, DeMerit plays for Watford....

The save he made later in the match wasn't as spectacular as everyone is making out. Any keeper worth his salt would've stopped that at his near post and made it look alot more comfortable than Green did!

Agreed. In fact, he was desperately close to making a big second mistake there but in the end got lucky. It certainly wasn't the 'redemption moment' that some were making it out to be.

it was also the first mistake green has made for england and it is not entirely his fault that england failed to beat a limited usa side.
shall we look at the anonymous and negative lampard, rooney who was dreadful etc, or perhaps we should look at the inclusion of king who hasnt been fit for years or carragher who is no longer good enough, picking milner who was ill for several days before, or replacing him with the useless swp (personal opinion) so the central midfield were light, or perhaps heskey and swp who shot straight at the keeper?
no
lets blame the goalkeeper

No, let's blame Capello. Having watched the "highlights" (glad I didn't waste my time on the live game) I'd agree with all of the above. Failed to pick his best keeper (Hart), selected unfit players (King and Milner), persisted in teaming Lampard and Gerrard who simply don't function together, Wright Phillips has deteriorated over the last two seasons but got a gig ahead of Joe Cole (always a potential match winner), Carragher is past his sell by date but got in ahead of both Dawson and Warnock. Heskey played well enough, but my grandson's a better finisher. If Slovenia draw with the USA, and then with us, we could well be lined up for a stuffing from the Germans. Then perhaps the T**ts next door and over the road (she's one UGLY bitch) will take the stupid streamers down that are defacing the area.
