Also (and I know I'm risking it a bit here) time was catching up with Col a bit so best to go as a hero rather than a zero

Yeah, definitely. It wasn't so much that his ability dropped off, more that he seemed to be picking up injury after injury. The BSP is a physically demanding league, very tough on a man heading towards 40. The Evostik allows him to drift around, using vision and awareness far superior to that of anyone else on the pitch, without getting hustled/closed down immediately as would be the case with us.

I'm pleased he seems to be doing well for them, he deserves a good final season in football.
