It's a red and white stripped one with nothing on it apart from an umbro badge.

Can't tell you what year it was because I'm rubbish at stuff like that, but I'm sure someone can, perhaps around 1990?

I think it was the first one you could buy (at least while i've been watching).

I've got (stolen off my daddy) 2 old shirts, one from an England semi-pro game in the early 1980s worn by John Davison (ok not an actual Alty shirt) and a yellow Alty away shirt worn by Graham Barfrom around 1979/1980.

Got a kids size "Holts Builders Merchants" one, must be about 94-5? Bought it for my daughter when she was about 3 but she refused point blank ever to have anything to do with it. My son, born a couple of years later wore it a bit until he discovered other football teams existed. Well I did try!

He now has a bigger range of shirts than JJB sports.

When we won the title at Gravesend in 79-80, the players threw their shirts to the crowd at the end. I got John Connaughton's goalie's shirt, the old fashioned green. Got mistaken and tw*tted at Northwich the following Monday night in the cup final by an Alty fan after it went off a bit when Kingy missed his penalty, all cos I had a green shirt on!!

Don't remember being in yellow at Gravesend but thinking we must've been, as they play in red. I don't still have my shirt, that's tidy minded mothers for you. No sense of propriety!

My main Alty shirt is the Holts one.  It's a classic.  They've even got one in a frame in the Shop.  It's got a nice big collar, which is great for stopping the back of the neck getting sunburnt when sat in the beer garden!

Well, mine went to various charity shops when I moved house. The only one I can find here is a Maunders one, which is why I thought I'd ask the question.

no idea what happened to my Black and Yellow Tottenham one, I loved that top. Seemed you either loved or hated that kit and I love it.

What's the worst Alty kit you can remember, I never liked the black and red checked one, or the grey we wore at York in the FA cup 4th round. Didn't we once have a Croatia style red and white check once too? Seem to recall it was the year the programme front cover was designed by some schoolkid, it was terrible.

The worst had to be the the bright orange shirt with white shorts. As far as I can remember this was only ever worn once in the away game at Frickley. I don't know why it was needed as Alty's red and white hardly clashed with Frickley's blue.

The result was a 3-0 defeat in an embarrassingly stagnant performance which didn't auger well for the Lancaster Cup replay the following Tuesday. Fortunately the shirts were consigned to history and Lancaster got a thumping.

Orange one was worn at FGR - hence the chant "You're just a team of stewards" by our Gloucestershire friends

Can't have been the same season's shirt though. I'm thinking of 2001/02.
