That photograph has to have been taken at this pre-season friendly in the early days of Mark Ward's tenure as Alty manager:

My favourite memory of that evening is of a fleet-footed Danny Adams ghosting past a startled Dan Petrescu in front of the 'mausoleum'...!

Looking at that lineup for Bradford- how I wish teams visiting Moss Lane for friendlies would put out a similar strength team to that nowadays

If memory serves, he ran the best part of the length of the pitch and Petrescu was an also ran.

A game referred by Premiership ref Anthony Taylor.

I think we lost 0-1 but the thing I most remember was whoever our PA announcer was at the time reminding people that there was to be no smoking in the Main Stand, which did cause me to raise an eyebrow at the time (even though I know it was just a normal announcement).

Of course, with regards to wishing that strength of side would be put out more often at Moss Lane I believe I am right in saying that we have seen one or two of the last Bradford City side to visit Moss Lane playing regularly over the last season or so?

Edit: I think in fact, one of the players from this particular fixture!

So former Alty and Bradford City man Gareth Whalley wasn't playing?

any other players who have played for both?

The mind plays tricks. upon further investigation  no Bradford player from the friendly in the picture from 2000 ever played for us. And I had thought that Tom KEarney had played for them in the 2008 friendly. But he hadn't, however (and don't look for it, test yourselves) we did sign one player from the Bradford City 2008 team.

Tom Kearney played against us for Bradford six or seven years ago at centre half if my memory serves me right.

Didn't Paul Showler play for Bradford for a while?

(Imagine having a player like him back on our books now, he set up a lot of goals for a certain centre forward here, whose name escapes me....)

Correct. He was on trial at BRadford after getting released by Everton.
