Much prefer to win by the odd goal in the semi ... and win by a dozen or so in the final!

Which should always be played at the Deva (or whatever it's called now) as Chester is the county town and all that  ;)

Don't we have to play a reasonable looking first team or face a fine from the blazers at Cheshire HQ?

Perhaps we should do an Alsager then and have Ken and the boys all walk out, just until after the semi, of course.

They have vowed to fulfil all fixtures. As Foster's not coming let's have a look at Coly and Sonko whilst we're at it. The youth player Woods also looked useful so could be on the bench again?

We can win this one by a cricket score.

What do you have in mind?

Graham Gooch's 333 at Lord's, perhaps....?

Trust someone to spoil it, I played for Sale at Alsager back in 1979 and scored 6 not out and took 1-37 if my records were correctly taken!

So do Alsager get fined for fielding (presumably) a weakened team??

Who knows - they may not have the money

Or

If they only have 11 players - it'll have to be their strongest 11

The prospect of Alsager being fined for putting a weakened team out is utterly preposterous, which is no reason to assume the Cheshire FA won't do just that.

What is the point of clubs employing managers if the teams chosen by the managers are deemed weak by a set of suits?  Young Holloway at Blackpool is correct on this topic.

On the topic of Blackpool - wasn't it ace beating them two years on the trot AWAY in the cup.  Hapy Days.

Correct, it's a question of them fielding the strongest team AVAILABLE. It'd be like fining us cos Youngy and Kearney aren't playing!

A work colleague is the manager of Winsford Utd.......he said they weren't bad and basically defended in big numbers to keep the score respectable

3 players from my work colleagues  Sunday pub team played for Alsager the other night, they are thrilled to now be playin Alty on Tuesday!

Believe it was a midfielder and both forwards.

Still would like to meet Vics in the final.

This could be be of the oddest nights at Moss Lane for ages if a load of Sunday league players are justv defending for their lives!

I can't imagine what this place will be like on Wednesday morning if we haven't beaten a bunch of sunday league players at least 48-0.
