I can't imagine what this place will be like on Wednesday morning if we haven't beaten a bunch of sunday league players at least 48-0.

One thing is for sure it will be time for McKenna to GO if we don't.. ;)

I think one thing is for sure - we need to rest any key players for this game, e.g. Reeves, and having anyone at all risking getting injured in this game would be bobbins, regardless of what the Cheshire FA say.

This could be be of the oddest nights at Moss Lane for ages if a load of Sunday league players are justv defending for their lives!

Sure, but I think Alsager will fancy their chances of breaking down our resistance at some point!  :D

Someone had to do it...

Don't we have to play a reasonable looking first team or face a fine from the blazers at Cheshire HQ?

I can see it now "Altrincham have been fined 150 Guineas for fielding a weakened team in a Cheshire Senior Cup tie against Alsager"!

Sorry, Brian, not quite accurate. The self-important blazers at the County FA have ordained the following -
"Rule 4 - PLAYING STRENGTH. Clubs must be represented by their strongest available team. Any Clubs failing to comply with this rule shall be fined not less than £200.00."
150 guineas = £150 + 150x5p (£7.50) = £157.50. (!)

Do these players have to be registered 7 days before the tie or have I made that up?

"Rule 3 - ELIGIBILITY OF PLAYERS
(i) In all rounds ... prior to the Final, a player must be a registered player of his Club.
(ii) Any such registration ...must have been received and accepted by the Football Association, or ... registered with a League in which his Club competes by 12 noon on the Friday previous to the date fixed for the playing of the Round ...
(iii) In order to be eligible to play in the Final Tie, players must have been eligible to play in the Semi Final ties'
So it looks as if anyone they've signed this week is OK to play on Tuesday.

Breaking news, Biddulph Vics are to merge with Alsager Town, the name will remain Alsager Town though Bidduplh Vics have tended resignation from their existing league at the end of the season. In the meantime, both un merged sides still have to fulfil their fixtures for current season.

Do we know if the entrance prices are to be reduced on Tuesday? Hope so, as not seeing any football today was frustrating.

I shall be spending as much on this round as I have spent in the last ten seasons of the competition.

I reckon if we get to the final.... When they present the trophy at the end we should all shout to the Cheshire FA members (who should be there) to arrange this bloody competition during the pre season.

"Cheshire Cup game prices are Adults £10, Concessionaries £5, Under-16s £2. These prices apply whether standing or sitting. " - this was the Hyde prices - so not identical
