It seems that Mr Laidlar is slacking off at the moment. ;)

So, does anyone have anything exciting to report?

How many did we take?

I suppose that the main revelation re. football matters that will interest people on here is that GH said that (with hindsight) putting both Thomson and Bowler on one year contracts was a mistake.

Re. off the field issues: the development of the Chequers car park was discussed and Andrew Shaw mentioned that the Council has agreed on their preferred developer and the football club may receive some proceeds by the end of this season.

Other topics covered included Danny Adams; Rod Thornley; repairing areas of the stadium; the missing letter 'A' in AFC on the main stand; coach travel and the possibility of subsidising it and Colin Little's current loss of form.

I shall leave the ever-excellent John Laidlar to expand on these topics in his customary meticulous fashion.

Cheers.

The Bowler/Thomson issue seems to suggest that if Graham believes putting them on contracts was a mistake he would probably quite like to release them. However obviously he can't because they are on contract.

Oh well.

He didn't say much about Peter Thomson but spoke quite a bit about Justin Bowler.

He said that he believes that Bowler will go on to be a good footballer but he has yet to have found his "home" at Altrincham.

Neither player will be offered a contract next season!
