I think Coburn is past it, thought he had a crap season and if we are serious about trying for promotion we should get rid of him.

I think you've just said that to get peoples backs up ( or my back up ) like the whole "all the team need to play well" row you started last year.

One of the most disrespectful posts that has been on here for years.

Made 2 or 3 mistakes but made 20 or 30 wonder saves.

If Stu had been fit at seasons end, we would still be in the BSP.
Fantastic news that he wants to stay, maybe this will persuade a few others to do the same.

Always good to have players challenging for positions.
Will do Stuart, and Alty good if we get a good back up.

Didn't get to many games least season but amongst others I was at Darlington (where we could easily have lost 4 or 5 but for Stu), at home to Tamworth (crucial finger stip save on to the bar before we went 2 up) and the last game. This is not meant to be a dig at Dootson but in my view if Stu had been playing against Eastbourne we would still be in the BSP. He's never been the best at crosses (if he was he'd have gone to Leicester or Palace) but I'd be suprised if there's a better keeper in our league next year, if he can avoid injury, which I think is the real issue with him.

Hello

Just to say that I have being following this forum for quite a while now, and it's about time I joined!

Anyway, I bumped into Stuart Coburn yesterday and had a good chat with him.  The good news is that he is staying and is looking forward to working with the new manager and he seemed very positive on the season ahead.  ;D

Welcome to the posting world, prepare to be patronised and lambasted at will.

Thanks for the info too, really good news in my opinion.

No-one is to stone anyone until I blow this whistle...even (and I want to make this absolutly clear)...even if they do say 'Coburn'

That's all I have to say on this subject.

So we're starting next season with probably the best keeper in the league.

Dreadful news. Dreadful!!

You ask any proper football fan and they will tell you that Stuart Coburn is the best shot stopper (not neccessarily the best GK) in non league. He is quality and still has years to go if you ask me.
