But they shouldn't have much more money as a result of that. Making the kids pay themselves is about taking the responsibility away from government.

It looks like they survived the meeting today, but the players won't get paid before the end of the week so they may go on strike again.
Still no guarantee they can start the season. What a mess!!

well indirectly it will be coming from the tax payer. That said, £1.8 million isn't exactly a massive amount for a university to borrow in order to buy the ground.

Wrexham players are lucky to get paid, the administrator has told Plymouth Players they will not be getting paid agin this month,They have not been paid by the club since December. They should have been given the order of the boot by the football league ages ago.

Wrexham players get paid the same sort of money ordinary blokes like us get. A few weeks late payment can mean falling behind with mortgages etc, football league players MAY have enough in the bank to ride out any crises, like at Plymouth, non league players won't, they need money to pay bills quickly.
Anyway, all the euphoria Wrexham fans had over the sale of their ground was totally misplaced IMO, there is no money to pay any of the staff and won't be for three or four weeks. The players will probably walk today, especially the ones that have been targeted by other clubs. Saunders won't have any time to assemble a new squad before the 13th and they won't be able to start the season.
When will the conference learn?

I thought someone would split hairs over that. You'd never catch me doing such a thing ;)
The point really is that they won't have enough money saved up to be able to miss out on a month or twos' wages, as is being demonstrated at the moment!!. They went out on strike last Friday, and will probably do the same , or try to find a different club, today.

One assumes that "AFC Wrecsam" would have to ply their trade in a Welsh league rather than the Pyramid, which would handicap their progress very badly.

This is what Wrexham need to do by Monday to stay in the BSBP!!

Wrexham appeared before an independent panel of the Football Conference on Thursday, 4th August 2011, to account for the serious financial situation at the football club.

Besides discussing the current position, the club were requested to detail their projections for the coming season. The reasoning for this was to satisfy the Football Conference Ltd, from budget information supplied, whether the club could meet its legal and financial obligations as a member and to determine their ability to fulfill their fixtures and meet creditors` demands.

The panel was informed of a third party involvement in relation to the proposed sale of the clubs stadium together with other assets and received information on how the monies from the sale were intending to be used.

It was crucial, with the season due to commence, to establish, how best to protect not only the integrity of the competition but importantly to safeguard the interest of member clubs.

Wrexham Football Club shall by 5pm on Monday, 8th August undertake to the Football Conference Ltd:-

 1. Deposit a bond or bank guarantee of £250,000 into the competitions accounts.

 2. Proof of payment to all outstanding football creditors, including staff and players wages.

 3. Lodge a signed lease, acceptable to the Football Conference, as to where the club intends to play its home fixtures for season 2011/12.

 4. Submit a detailed business plan and revised budget for the coming season

I wonder what odds you could get on them starting the season now!!!
