A Chester fan on thefootballforum says the FL clubs are on it this year. Is that right?

Yes, that's right. Also, I note that Runcorn will be represented by two teams!  :o

That actually makes it quite interesting then! Would love a trip to Gresty Road, even if it is only CSC. what other Cheshire FL clubs are there, then? Macc of course, any others?

Accoring to the Cheshire FA website, the teams with byes to round 2 are as follows:

Altrincham
Crewe Alexandra
Macclesfield Town
Nantwich Town
Northwich Victoria
Northwich Villa
Stalybridge Celtic
Stockport County
Tranmere Rovers
Winsford United
Witton Albion

Who the hell are Northwich Villa?!?!?    ???

Tranmere. We played at gresty road in 2002 and lost 3-2. there was about 400 people in that stand that holds about 5,000

northwich villa are northwich reserves.Theyve just done it the sneaky way like we should so we could field a reserve outfit at a reasonable level (nwcl)....They play at vics ground and wear vics colours, its a clever way to do it

CSC s the definition of tinpot. It makes the conference north look like the champions league.

I'd love us to run a "Play for Alty scheme" where you pay £100 to register yourself and get 10 minutes in a CSC game. Big money spinner.

I think Alsager Town ran a similar scheme last season.   ;)

Or it is Jim Rushe's back-up plan if the Vics became extinct?

Up to the end of last Season Northwich Villa played in the (Mid) Cheshire League

They successfully applied for promotion to the North West Counties (sorry, get confusticated with all the different League (Sponsor) Names at this level

In theory they should not / can not have any "official" connection to Northwich Victoria and, although players can be registered for both Clubs in theory, any player not "dual registered" who Vics wanted to sign from Villa would have to be subject to the normal regulations regarding transfers
