I'm surprised non of you have mentioned the Central Ground, Wittons old home or are you all too young for that one?! Some great old grounds mentioned in those lists though

Yes to all 3 in the original question and a good few of the others mentioned, but what about another couple much closer to home:

Witton's old Central Ground
Runcorn - Canal Street

Missed Canal Street - and the Drill Field ! Strangely, I never got to the Central Ground though.

Who can forget the South Liverpool experience at scenic Holly Park...?

Or watching us lose at Jackson Avenue, Nantwich in 1976?

Colne Dynamos,Kings Lynn,Hinckley,Horwich RMI,Leigh RMI and there are probably quite a few more! Ive also been to Kiddy and Telford before they built new grounds on top or around the old ones.

Christ, someone had to mention them. Just when I finally thought the therapy had worked and the experience had been pushed so deep into the murky recesses of my mind that it would never re-surface.

Has no-one mentioned Millmoor?  A great FA Cup triumph, a painful Trophy semi final and a woeful FA Cup debacle in one South Yorkshire location

And how about our Conf North playoff venues - Manor Park and Rockingham Road - both gone now

Surprisingly, the first season of the Conference - about half the grounds have gone - Weymouth, Maidstone, AP Leamington, Northwich, Scarborough, Kettering, Nuneaton, Wealdstone, Yeovil Town.  And Worcester go at the end of the season.

And two more to add - a painful trophy quarter final - Watling Street, Dartford and a more succesful one at Bishops Stortford

Of the over 90 grounds I have been to watching Alty, more than half have gone.  And there are some real good memories in there

the list grows!  Some dumps like canal street had their own weird charm that I miss.  It's fine going to places like nene park but they are soulless and bland.

I thought that Rockinghorse Road was still there, being used by the reserves or something.

And Enfield:

Our trophy semi final triumphs: Canal Street, Loakes Park, Southbury Road - all gone!

I live near Wycombe - Loakes Park is now a supermarket / shopping centre / hospital extension
I go to Enfield every wednesday - Southbury Park is either a morrisons or a Cine World (the latter I think) depending on which side of the A10 junction it was

The 2 games at Colchester were memorable, for the wrong reasons unfortunately. 90/91 was a top-ish of the table clash, finishing 3-3. Early on, a bunch of local knuckle heads were let into the away end as they persuaded the police that they were Alty fans who had gone in the wrong end by mistake. Despite our protests to the police that they were squadies itching for a fight, in they came and all hell broke loose.
91-92 was different as there were only about 30 of us there, as opposed to 200 the year before. Can't remember much about the game apart from it finishing 1-1. On the way out a few Alty fans were jumped by some friendly locals and we ended up getting a lift back to the station by the police to avoid any more nonsense.
