Imagine going 3 down in the first half to a relegated side in a must win game.
Imagine taking over half the crowd in a united show of support rather than a backlash to the first game and getting beat.
Imagine tamely surrendering to a evostick first division club at home in game that could raise more funds than years worth of golden goals and raffles.
Imagine on the back of that 7 weeks later losing away to a midtable evostick outfit in a competition we've not had a decent run in for 20 years that again could provide much need funds.
Imagine keeping 3 clean sheets in 37 league games.
Imagine welcoming droylsden and Colwyn bay next Christmas whilst Hyde enjoy festive fixtures against Stockport Macclesfield and Wrexham.

It's great to take positives where possible, and give praise out in equal measure, but there is no denying this past year  has been dreadful, it started badly and has rarely got any better. The crowds have held up brilliantly, apart from that there's very little to cheer.

IMAGINE having a manager who wasn't totally clueless. >:( >:(

I wouldn't say that. He's not done that badly, has he??
For me, it's always been about what he can achieve NEXT season.

I think some fans have rose tinted glasses on when it comes toAlty.

We are a well run club, who nearly went out of business and came back from the brink, yet we have the audacity to have a go at other clubs for being in a similar position now.

We have things right now off the pitch now, but on the pitch is the worry.

Unfortunately we are sinking lower and lower on the pitch, with no funds to invest in players, ground development or back room staff to help develop the club.

We either need to accept we are lower tier Non League club or we need to find some solution to the funds. Unfortunately a solution to the funds is very difficult to find.

Everyone just thinks that the club  just runs and it's no longer a struggle to keep it going.  Don't think the board would agree.

I've said before, we need a crisis down Ridgeway Road again to refocus a few people and maybe kick start some fundraising.

I would agree with you,  finding people to do the fundraising is the same problem as find the funds themselves. I openly admit I could not and to be honst would not be able to help fund raise, all I can do is give a little funds. What it needs is a plan.

A plan that people can see has an end. For example, how much money is needed to ................then we have a Blue Peter style totaliser until said item is purchased. The plan in other words needs to be acheivable and be measurable.

What I mean is that I don't think he's totally clueless.

I don't think anyone here realistically expect us to go straight back up this year did they? Also, to be in the top 8 with an outside shout at the playoffs wouldn't have been achievable with a completely clueless manager and considering the cut in budget from last season I think we've done reasonably well to be where we are.

He's not been perfect with defensive frailties and a couple of very poor results, e.g Vauxhall and Hinckley and we should be higher up the table but all in all I'm quite happy that he'll be managing next year.

I wish he'd have told us that in August, I'd have not bothered turning up and saved myself a fortune.

Remember that LS came here with a 2 year plan. Promotion was not expected in his 1st season.

Most of his signings have been greeted with a degree of commendation and approval, but (mostly) the defenders haven't worked out (hindsight is great!) and he hasn't had the money he could have had (without going into the politics etc) - yet has still found one or two decent players.

As for losing 2-1 at Nunny; they are a form team and probably a wee bit fired up from their points deduction. Realistically, any points from that game would have been difficult.

Hamilton forget it there is no 2 year plan - it not worked out for LS, we have a big decision to make when the season ends, get it wrong and it could be a long way back!

Incidentally Nuneaton had only won one out of their last 5 before Saturday, so not so much a form team - also if we are not equally fired up as them at this stage of the season - we may as well not bother

A plan that people can see has an end. For example, how much money is needed to ................then we have a Blue Peter style totaliser until said item is purchased.

Did we ever get a new pa amplifier that the sponsorship of the Opening match music was designed to achieve - I still cant hear a word of what is said at the start of the game in the main stand and have to send my lad running up to the commentary box to get the squad numbers of those we didnt hear or recognise.

Imagine being a Macc fan just a weeks (or less) away from sinking into Non league for a while

Of all the sh*te that I've read on this forum that's the most ridiculous one yet.

Are you suggesting that it's worse to have 15 years in the football league and eventually get relegated into the BSP rather than be 8th in the BSN?

You didn't think that through surely? As sad as Macc fans will be at the moment I don't think there's a
single one that would swap places with us?

Bizarre.

Its just the younger fans trying to be positive.

Try not to knock it out of them too young.
