8th September - OXFORD CITY (away)

They averaged about 180 last season - how about we have a go at outnumbering them?

Big one for all the southern exiles as well - potentially a lot of peoples first look at our new look team.

Never post on the forum, and have been living abroad for most of last season, but funnily enough I'm moving to Oxford for a year at the start of September.

Needless to say, I couldn't believe my luck that I get to watch Alty play so locally, mint  Grin

It's a big one alright. Lot of pressure on Jimmy Hill that day to deliver some good pubs in his old manor. Luckily unlike our first ever visit to their big city neighbours I dont think we'll be getting run through the car park this time.

Calling a game an 'invasion game' tends to lead to three points to the opposition. I can't remember the last one we won.

I could have sworn it got re-branded to a 'slightly larger than average away following day' midway through the season

It did but that wouldn't fit on the T-shirts so we went back to INVASION game.

This MUST be an invasion game. It's a great city for pubs and their ground looks to be pretty easily accessible.

If we can take 150 to Forest Green in the arsehole of nowhere, we can get 200 to this one  Grin

Are Donnington Ales still going strong?

I think so but they are really more Cotswolds/Gloucstershire than Oxford.

maybe we should sell the rights to naming these sorts of games? ...but we could keep with tradition by calling it the invasion match sponsored by ABC Ltd?Huh?
