The comments were a bit embarrassing, but there's a difference between being a bit of an eejit and the type of disgusting human being who'd spit in someone's face.

read between the lines he probably slagged spencer off and is a little bit shocked that the player actually stood up for himself .
not condoning spitting but the player shopuld have kicked him like cantona kicked that palace hooligan .
just because someone is a footballer doesnt mean you can slag him off
