Little and Thornley.

Was going to say that too. To think what a Thornley of 2002/03 and Little 2004/05 partnership would had done!!

Chambers and Power/Russell didn't do too bad

Statistically the worst is Ricky Harris and Andy Green with 12 goals between them in 93-94 season.

Swindells scored 82 in 65-66, with Pat Connolly weighing in with an additional 34

Swindells and Worth managed a combined 71 in 66-67, 63 in 67-68, 57 in 69-70 and 39 in 70-71 for a total when together of 230

Johnson and Rogers: 37 in 77-8, 49 in 78-9, 27 in 79-80, 23 in 80-81, 18 in 81-2 and 12 in 82-3 for a total together of 166

So my heart says Johnson and Rogers, but the facts demonstrate clearly its Swindells and Worth
Lies, damned lies, and statistics. Johnson and Rogers were facing a higher standard of opposition than Swindells and Worth had to cope with.

Worst ? Apart from those two donkeys currently grazing at Moss Lane, I give you.....

Shreeve and Furnivall.

I endorse Shreeve and Furnival - WOEFUL. Mind you, I never rated Mick Moore either

As a key measure - there is NO game in which both Shreeve and Furnival scored whereas Green and Harris both scored in a 3-1 win at Stalybridge and 1 2-1 win at home to Runcorn

Bill,

An additional point to consider: after the arrival of Barry Whitbread at Moss Lane in October 1979, Jeff Johnson switched from being a centre forward to a new role as a left-sided midfield player.

Swiddles and Worth

Sounds like a firm of solicitors. :D or is it one of your favourite beers Phil?

For what it's Worth (!) I'm going for Swindells and Connolly.

Reminds me of the time Oddbins in Alty advertised a certain beer as "Wadsworth Sick Sex!"

But then I once advertised Bishop's Finger in Safeway as "Nun's Delight!"

Disagree. Peter Thompson edges out Twiss on this one. In fact, we've hard a few that are worse than Twiss!

Wasn't fortunate enough to see Swindells & Worth but Jeff Johnson and John Rogers were a class act.

Cult - I think we moved Jeff into midfield because he wasn't quite good enough to cut it as a striker at APL level.  Apart from his hat trick at Mossley he struggled to find the target early in the 79-80 season, with only one league goal before Barry Whitbread joined us.  But what a great servant of the club.  Perhaps my favourite Alty player ever

Since I've been going McKenna and Brady hit about 50 between them in 90-91 granted I can't compare them with others I haven't seen
