So, which dates would this break be in order to guarantee that all eventualities are covered. How about November to March?

Also, teams like Vauxhall Motors would just use this as an opportunity to go on money-spinning tours of Asia, raking in cash and increasing the advantage that they already have over us.

For those reasons, I'm out.

It simply can't be done in this country....

We live in a temperate climate, so nothing is ever certain.
One day it can be 12 deg, the next it can be minus 6, so there is just no predictable weather over here.

Most of Germany gets preditcably cold, so they can do it & they do.

Its always december january that the frost sets in, and there are'nt really many pro's for clubs to play in cold weather either, we got 600 at new year droylesden last year! You cant tell me non league crowds wouldnt be larger while the pro clubs werent playing.

Strange that you say unpredictable weather yet we have this conversation every dec/jan, its just a situation that could be avoided.

Are we suddenly the FA? If so yes let's debate this every year. If not, Jesus, lets move on to slightly less covered ground. I've heard we have a talented young player waiting on our opinions about his perceived under utilisation. As well as a board desperate to hear how us turning a £50 a week profit is detrimental to out 4 man substitutes bench.

This forum is on its arse.

Just had a look at games that have been postponed due to weather over the past couple of years. The earliest game was 30th November, the latest was 5th February.

Lets assuming we take a 2 month break for December and January. When exactly are we going to play there fixtures? Should we start the season in July and end it in June, effectively removing the summer break with players finishing one, then start the pre-season of the other?

I don't agree with winter break, it would kill clubs at are level

Imagine having a break during December and January when the weather was playable and then being hit with postponements in February?

The only logical answer is to play in the summer - but I am against that - football is this nations winter sport

Postponements are part and parcel of the game on this country, and although an inconvenience, I wouldn't have it any other way

The key is to have plenty of games before the clocks go back, always used to be the way but for some reason not so much these days. For example why did we only have one midweek game in September?

Better scheduling yes, but winter break no

Football isnt a sport to be played in winter conditions without undersoil heating.
