KNOBSOCK OF THE SEASON : 2013/14
« on: April 20, 2014, 10:35:16 PM »

After granting a lifetime achievement award to Frank Sinclair there was actually a shortage of candidates this season.......but the three nominees are all really strong options.

Mr.Messom is the chairman of Colwyn Bay. Simply employing the odious Mr.Sinclair would perhaps be reason enough to choose him......but the goings on at Llanelian Road a few weeks ago beggared belief. Having employed enough security staff to marshal a Stone Roses concert, this buffoon suggested that the ensuing problems after Nicky Clee's wonder strike were entirely down to our fans standing in a provocative area of the ground. If you're not going to segregate.......words (almost) fail me ! The man is a 24 carat plank.

I've just watched the Alty TV highlights of the Hednesford debacle again. The referee was so appallingly inept that it would be quite possible to imagine he'd been bribed. The sending off of Simon Richman after only 9 minutes for what the appeal proved wasn't even a foul was bad enough. To whistle for a free kick to be taken when the goalkeeper is crouched at his post lining up his wall beggars belief. And to miss a handball as obvious as the third goal......

Which brings me to the obnoxious little creep who scored those goals. Whilst Durrell is undoubtedly talented, he has absolutely no class. To celebrate in the manner he did after committing the equivalent of a rugby knock-on singles him out as a grade one cheat. They say cheats never prosper.....well I hope he's happy at Wrexham. After all, they had Frank Sinclair on their books so signing tossers is nothing new for them.

So who joins the elite list of previous winners ? The choice is yours !

Elliot Durrell is from Shrewsbury and I know a few people around here who would agree with you that he is a worthy candidate for the award . Apparently his brother George is even worse..... I believe he plays for Ellesmere Rangers.

Nice of Mr Messom to reply to my letter, I bet he's replied to the Welsh FA and football conference though!

Surely it has to be the ref who took charge of  the home game vs Boston.
His refusal to dish out the necessary punishments just encouraged Boston to resort to ever increasing levels of foul play to potentially injure our players.

Yes, I'll give you that one......but the Hednesford ref was worse and if I nominate two officials I shall soon have ATS on my case  ;)

Hednesford ref for the free kick fiasco - the usual ref defence of a split second to make a decision etc simply doesn't apply to that one

Mortlakebob for patronising people that go every week and tweeting that we would win the league when we signed Danny Higginbotham - a signing the destabilsed our whole season

Maybe a BBC bigwig, but totally out of touch with this level of football
