Proposed new league structure

Just been reading this. My personal feeling is that it shows a total lack of respect for the non league game and would be a very bad move.

Totally agree. It will just bung us down another level or two and take away support.

Whilst I appreciate the motives of the move, I think better use of the loan system or feeder clubs will be more appropriate.

Maybe they could introduce a reserve league, now that would be novel.

The report is intended to improve the fortunes of our national team not our national game. Therefore it appears that no consideration has been made for any one lower down in the pyramid. Depressingly, I wouldn't expect anything else. That said, I'm not sure how it would help the England team anyway. PL clubs will still hoover up talent from across Europe, will clog up their B teams with them.

Huge backward step if this goes ahead. The game is already fractured enough, this proposal would cause a chasm in financial terms between the  Prem League and "the rest", especially non-league.

Just goes to show that the powers that be think premier league teams are the be all and end all. They dont think about the little teams further down the pyramid. Greg Dyke or should that be Greg D**k.

there was a universal acceptance that a major overhaul was needed to give reserve sides and young, English talent more regular, competitive football

Or the Premier League clubs could just stop buying every foreign player going and play young English players like Lallana, Sterling and the like but they won't.

Just because the top of football is ruined isn't a good enough reason to ruin the rest of it.

English football is unique not saying its better far from it but in some cases you have crowds over 5 thousand in the 5th level of football most leagues in Europe have that in there 2nd division British football is bad because how the kids learn the game on full size pitches to be fair that is changing and in time it will get better

Every club from league one down should boycott the FA Cup/trophy/vase if this comes to pass, I've never heard anything as ridiculous in my life. How's about all young players have to go loan in the lower leagues by condition of receiving a contract rather than have their agents instructing their parent clubs that loan moves to lower clubs are a bit beneath them despite the fact they've never kicked a ball in anger at senior level

I feel this proposal shows at best an indifference towards, and at worst a total disregard of clubs at our level, and would therefore hope it gets knocked on the head. It won't, of course, because the Premier League will call the tune & the majority there don't care two hoots about anyone but themselves. I hope I'm wrong ...
