Columbia’s 2-1 win over Ivory Coast in Brasilia was the prelude to the big match in Sao Paulo. The Columbians virtually secured a place in the knock out stages with their second 2-1 win in consecutive games.

Only two of our teams, Potters Mould and Shortdean United, predicted the correct score line to pick up a maximum 3 points.

Luis Suarez’s 2 goals for Uruguay broke the hearts of England supporters to set up the second 2-1 score line of the day.

Hardly Athletic came up with their first 3 pointer leaving just 2 teams (George Heslop’s Souper Doopers and All Roads Lead To Rio) yet to predict a fully correct score.

Following Thursday's disappointing England result In Group D, it’s the turn of the two winners from the first round of matches to meet on Friday when Italy take on Costa Rica in Recife. All England followers will now be supporting the Italians in the hope that they can come up with two victories in their remaining group matches to keep England’s qualifications hopes alive.

Despite Costa Rica’s surprise win in their opening match against Uruguay no one has predicted a win for the South Americans. Only 3 people expect a draw with all 3 going for 1-1 (including Pete Foster!).
