Reasons to smile...
« on: November 11, 2014, 09:01:26 AM »

Not sure why I was more upset by the loss on Sunday than by many previous defeats.  Was it because it was our best chance to get a decent cup run and some money?  Was it the frustration that most people seem to disagree with Lee's formation?  Was it because of the spectacular non-showing from the players?  Was it the dreading of the inevitable "What happened to your lot?" grilling at work on Monday?

Probably a bit of everything!  However, there are always some reasons to smile:

1) We support the best team ever (that's Altrincham, for those unsure)
2) The club still seems to be run very well, from a business perspective
3) The new sports hall
4) We have Radio Robins (well done to the team - a lot of people I know are jealous we have a decent commentary service)
5) We're not in the relegation zone
6) It's nearly Christmas

For some bizarre reason, I am optimistic that we can win at Telford, and that Sunday will be, by far, the lowest point of the season.

All I'll say is there's absolutely no excuse for Not staying up.
Cup is gone, we may 25k which should go on players.

Need to be looking to get the 29 points as soon as possible.

In the past, 50 points has not always been enough to stay up. The target to be certain of staying up should really be 60.

Whilst that is true, I think there are a number of poor teams in this league. When we went down last time, 47 points would had been enough. I think a similar haul this season would be enough, although we are capable of more and believe we will.

Let's remember that a couple of our rivals will have funds to strengthen due to having enough about them to beat a lower league side. We'll be drawing from a familiar well, next time I get a bucket or whatever put in my face as I walk through the turnstiles I'll point them in the direction of the dressing room. I'm absolutly distraught about sunday, and the way the club and town have been embarrassed on national television and radio. We we're taught a lesson in passion, endeavour, digging in and showing some bollocks, and also using round pegs in round holes. We need to just go out and win tommorow, and get this out of our system.

1 it's only a game and we are still alive and breathing
2 we have been here before we can pick ourselves up
3 the teaser flag was seen by the world
4 the teaser flag was the sole flag on display in the first half
5 we should be proud of how we got behind the team
6 the burgers were nice
Kyle scored a lovely goal
