The Back of my Cab XI

I promised Mr.Heslop I'd have a crack at the best team of players I've had in my cab, so......

Substitutes : Boss Hogg, Remi Moses, Graham Heathcote, Fabio Nunes, Josh Mitten

Manager : Sir Matt Busby
Assistant : Sir Alex Ferguson
Commentators : John Motson and Tony Gubba
After Dinner Speaker : Angus Deayton
Cabaret : Alvin Stardust (recently passed away....one of the nicest people I've ever been privileged to drive).
Trophy : Northern Premier League Championship (accompanied by ex Macc boss Peter Wragg)


NB : I've cheated slightly with Graham Heathcote - we actually DROVE the same cab for a while in the 80's !

Boss Hogg would love a shot at playing behind that lot.....I've not carried many keepers, but annoyingly missed out on Bert Trautmann by a whisker about 3 years ago.

Hash has carried at least 4 Premier League players this year that I've missed out on : Antonio Valencia, Juan Mata, David De Gea, and Gael Clichy.

Late changes : Paul McGrath for Billy McNeill, Norman Whiteside for Clayton Blackmore.

No room on the bench now for poor Josh Mitten (the only Alty player I've ever picked whilst actually on our books !) or Nunes.

On reflection, poor is a good word for Josh Mitten......
