Great stuff. I was at 2 of those games, us v Everton and Sutton v Cov, the year before I was also at our win at St Andrews. That said, best pic is of a snow bound Valley Parade, hadn't changed much when we went there in '74 vs BPA after they'd left the cricket ground.

And if you look carefully at the background of the Watford/Coventry match in 1986 you'll see one of Watford's defenders, blurred and almost obscured by the weather, observing the action. He was only twenty then, had a lot more hair and didn't commute from Hull, but it's him; watching, learning .. Sinnout in the snow!  ;)

Paul B,

That photograph was used in Andy Mitten's article on Altrincham FC which featured in the November 2004 issue of the publication FourFourTwo.

Yes you're right as usual Mr Cult - ten years since I saw it though :)

The goalkeeper for Tooting and Mitcham in photo no. 19... Could that be David Icke?  He was a keeper and would have been 24/25 at the time of the game.  Tried the wonders of the web but can't find anything to confirm it.

That Coventry Watford game was played the same day our original game at Birmingham was called off, our minibus full from London went there instead as ours was called off late. It was cold.

His Wikipedia entry says that he retired through injury in 1973 so I doubt it is him
