Don't care who plays and long as we have someone man marking Summerskill.

We all know he can run the game given half the chance.

Looking forward to it

I'm sure theres a stupid Cheshire FA rule about playing 60 - 70% of your previous matchday squad?!

My team would be:

Parton
Leather CB
Havern CB
Brown LB
Reserve team RB
Crowther LW
Sean Williams CM
Gillespie CM (needs some game time!)
Heathcote RW (or another Reserve team RW)
Perry
Swift

Bench - Reserve team players

Rest Coburn, Marshall, Griffin, Richman, Lawrie, Clee, Reeves, Moult, Cavanagh, Densmore....

Who is Brown the LB? Also, isn't Heathcote Jr a CM by trade?
Sure he plays in the reserves. I saw him play pre-season (think against Mossley). Although it's also highly possible i'm making it up :-)

If you're thinking of David Brown I'm certain he's a right-back. :)

Parton & Gillespie need game time in my opinion tho' I'm not sure they'll get it tonight; I doubt any other regulars will feature. Leather & Perry have both had some time on the pitch lately; Swift will surely start; I would be amazed if any of the 11 who started Saturday were named tonight, & Lawrie & Cavanagh won't be risked. It will be a reserve/youth XI; the most important thing about tonight is that the game be completed, to be honest.

I'd give Dave Parton the full game, bar that I agree with you Mike.  No replay please.

Graham, while we have got you on and everyone is in a nice mood, could you answer me a couple of questions of the Northwich thing.

Do the two clubs both feel that they are the real Northwich Victoria or it is not like that?

Was there a lot of acrimony at the start with some people sticking with the Flixton based thing who you may have expected to back the fans one?

Do 1874 fans look for the other Northwichs result on Saturday and enjoy a loss or are you not as narrow minded as I would be.

Genuinely interested on how it all works...

Also, who on earth goes to watch Northwich Flixton Villa?

They must really hate their wives.

I looked it up on the Cheshire FA website (saddo that I am!):
Rule 4 - "Clubs must be represented by their strongest available team. Youth teams are not acceptable in this competition. Any Clubs failing to comply with this rule shall be fined not less than £500.00". Cue medical certificates, I think ...
Incidentally, Rule 18(a) confirms that if a draw after 90 minutes it's extra time (15 minutes each way) then penalties, so weather permitting it WILL be finished on the night.

One of my favourite stats of all time -
Sat Nov 24 2012
NWCFL 1st Division Trophy
Northwich Villa 3 Chadderton 0
Attendance 5 (yes, that's right , FIVE)

Mark

Thanks for the interest. Genuinely most 1874 fans have little or no interest in what purports to be Northwich Victoria. We are a new club with a seperate identity who have no association with NVFC (or JRFC as they are known as). The only fans left at Flixton are a number of known individuals who continue to stick their heads in the sand and don't seem to question how the club is run.
Maybe the most telling point is that from a former Vics fan of over 30 years I'll be hoping you put one over them tonight.

They are rumoured to be taking up a ground share option with Witton from next season and the Vics fans left seem to think all the 1874 fans will flock over there to support them once they are back in Northwich. Yet again they are deluded if they think that will happen.

If you fancy taking in a game at Barton Stadium you will be made very welcome.
