I could pick at least three teams. Been going since 1972, less so these days.

                                        Coburn

Allen             P Densmore                  Davison           Crossley

Johnson         King                            Barrow             Howard

                               Little           Rogers

Subs: Connaughton, Reeves, Worth, Heathcote, Showler.

Honourable mentions to: Stepney, Cuddy, Mal Bailey, John Hughes, Whitbread, Lennie Dickinson, Vernon, Ian Morris, Val Owen, Eddie Hussin, Willie Mailey, Denis Fidler, Shotton, and of course Watmore.

Fan since 76 so lucky enough to be there for the formation and subsequent domination of the Alliance winning team with FA Cup exploits thrown in :)

Alex Stepney
Stan Allan
John Owens
Mal Bailey
Peter Densmore
John King
Graham Barrow
Jeff Johnson
Paul Showler
John Rogers
Barry Howard

Subs : Stuart Coburn, Ivan Crossley, Ken McKenna, Graham Heathcote, John Timmons

I always thought Graham Barrow was the unsung hero of the great side of the Alliance winning team - he was a class player and one sorely missed when he left at the end of the 80-81 season.

Great shout earlier about Stepney's distribution. I also liked how Peter Eales bowled the ball out in a curve to his fullbacks - don't see that any more.

Nice to see someone else rated John Vernon - he was my favourite player in my first season

It is true that Alex Stepney had an amazing football brain, he invariable threw the ball out with incredible accuracy and distance. Not for him the tall hoof up field.

Only been watching since 2006 so my team is shocking. In fact i am struggling with the 2nd central midfielder.

t's also very difficult to judge which is better - playing in a team battling relegation from the conference or playing in a team pushing for promotion from the conference north.

GK: Coburn
RB: Densmore
LB: Doughty
CB: Havern
CB: Young
RM: Watmore
LM: Clee
CM: Kearney
CM: Summerskill
ST: Little
ST: Reeves

Summerskill is a strange one but each to his own.
