Absolutely you can have a percentage more than 100% if you are comparing two different sized numbers and starting with the lower.

Take this example:

If a club has a gate of 1000 one match, and then the next match it is 3000, what is the percentage increase?

It is clearly 200%.

The way to look at it in relation to our crowds is to take it by number. For every 100 people you get through the gate, we get 125. Self evident. Per cent means per hundred after all!

If you'd prefer to see it as every 100 of ours there are 80 of yours, fair enough!

In fairness, we are both wrong the percentage difference is actually 22%. I'd forgotten my comparative statistical training.

In any event, it's hardly a staggering difference given our comparative positions in the league and certainly nothing for you to be crowing about.
