Plea to the players of Altrincham FC
« on: April 27, 2007, 01:56:20 PM »

With 20 minutes left to play at St Albans, Alty were leading 4 - 1.
Taken from John Laidlar's summary of that match :
Curiously, Alty manager Graham Heathcote stormed down the tunnel, 20 minutes from the end, seemingly annoyed that his team were not following his instructions.

So, tomorrow, PLEASE, PLEASE ignore his instructions, and his rantings during the match,AND BRING HOME THE BACON

All the very best for a great victory

Why not. Ignore him, and we win. Listen to him, and we lose.!!!!!!

Not heard the 'cote yellkng "stop the cross" this year...the key to many a Unibond victory.

I think we can all echo V of D's sentiments...put it in the onion bag, give 110% for 90 minutes and bring it on!

Hey I'm worried now but this time tomorrow adrenalin will take over and the nerves will dissappear.

The script is all set for Justin Bowler to score the winner inn the 90th minute for me...just hope it's for Alty.

Wow VofD is back, and suprise suprise he's uprooted everyone in the controversy stakes!

Not entirely sure ignoring the manager will bring success, but of course, some idiots even believe Elvis is still alive!

VofD's other sentiments do ring true, perhaps VofD tomorrow could be a milestone, an opportunity to cheer the team and not jeer the manager?

You fool.

Elvis is alive......and his name is Marcus Hallows.

Very amusing post from VofD.

So how does that work?

"Great ball Colin! Bloody rubbish Heathcote! Great tackle Val! You're useless Heathcote!"

My point was that you could do one and not the other. Preferably, cheer the team on. Really cant see how your feelings for Heathcote could have a positive effect tomorrow, therefore, leave them behind.

Well isn't this just F'in brilliant, the night before such a massive game, you come on making comments like this, we really need to pull together, like or dislike Graham, like or dislike any of the players, we all want the same thing and we should give EVERYONE at the club our total support from 3.00 until 4.50 tomorrow, so stop making unsettling comments and back the club!

I do believe that it is possible to support your team and yet dislike your manager simultaneously.

I can't say that I ever really warmed to John Williams as Alty's manager from 1986 to 1987 but I still followed the Robins loyally during that period.

Oh, and as for that walking publicity stunt, Tommy Docherty, I couldn't wait to see the back of him at Moss Lane!
