Today's debacle
« on: April 18, 2015, 10:39:07 PM »

Yet again we signally failed to master a team who have been in relegation trouble all season. That says they are poor....but we contrived to make them look decent.

Apart from the capitulation against Welling, that was by some way the poorest showing at Moss Lane this season. It would be hard to name one player who had a decent game to be perfectly honest. And ironically Tom Marshall earned Man of the Match after possibly his poorest display of the season.

OK, it's been a long season and we were short on numbers, but that doesn't excuse some of the farcical stuff we displayed today. The ref was poor, but that didn't really affect what happened. Unlike Gateshead, we can't blame the pitch because it was in excellent condition, and a credit to our ground staff.

I'm not going to pick on individuals, because this was overall a dreadful performance by the entire team. Only a sense of loyalty stopped leaving long before the end.

it was a tired end of season performance by a team that's run out of gas. Clee and the defenders were up for it, but reeves, lawrie and richman looked knackered, williams and sinnott simply not up to the task. is that everyone. without a midfield they were always going to hard to beat. now the pressure is off them they've won three on the bounce. their manager must be tearing his hair out.

It was a slow game, and from a photographic perspective, very little of interest came our way.

I had too much time to focus on players, which suggests a general lack of movement, and this was mostly due to both teams not really wanting to close down their opposite number.

Poor match really; I have felt for the past few games that our players have been thinking more about their summer holiday than the game they are playing.

If you thought it was bad trying to photograph it, you should have tried commentating on it for Radio Robins !

Very poor game and even worse than at Torquay when again we only started to play when we were two down. We certainly look more of a threat when Kyle is up front, not matter what most on this forum think of him.

A win at Braintree would be nice to make the final table look decent as we could move up 3 places.

I am sure Lee has started plans for next season. Overall we have done very well this season but have also been very fortunate (for a change)- only a few injuries, very few postponements, very few Tue night matches and until recent weeks few suspensions.

What baffled me was we started 1 up front last game of the season at home in front of a decent crowd against an already relegated team

What was the caution for ?

Entertain us !!

Last few games have been dreadful

Can't help feeling Braintree will be more of the same. Let's hope not as the supporters who go are shelling out quite a bit of their hard earned to get there and support them.

A big reason for the poor end of the season is because the players are safe they know Sinnott keeps everyone take last season the only 3 players who left buzz wally and rogers went by choice and were not released

It was atrocious. Safe we may  be but that was shocking. Any thoughts about going to Braintree have been well and truly put to bed.

As for who stays and who goes, obviously Gillespie left at Xmas. The others Id let go would be Parton, Willaims, Wilkinson and Sinnott. They're not bad players, but to take the team forward we need to get better quality.

Yes, absolutely Barry White, like watching the worst bits of the early part of the season.
