Ladies Promoted!
« on: June 08, 2015, 11:10:17 AM »

Great News this morning

The FA have now decided that both Altrincham and Haslingden will be promoted to the North West Women's Regional League.

So, after only four years of existence, the Ladies have secured their first promotion (hopefully the first of many)

Thanks to all our sponsors, current and past,  to the Football Club, Alan Ainsley, Mersey Valley Sports Club and to Judy Henson for her brilliant work on our promotion pack.

Congratulations to all involved, it's great to see all the season's hard work rewarded in this way.

Good luck for next season in this higher league!  :)

Soon be time to reopen the plastic pitch debate. Would be great if all the club's teams could play at the J.Davidson stadium and maximise revenue. I was watching the Germany/Ivory Coast ladies game last night and it was a while before I realised it was a 3G pitch. No one seems to be having any trouble with the bounce of the ball or the supposedly ankle sapping nature of the pitch.

Until they are allowed in the conference and football league we can't even consider it. The advantages are great and there for all to see but first team first, all else second

Daft isn't it that they can be used in a World Cup competition but not in non-league domestic football.
