I think this is a match where you want logistics to take over really. We don't want them spending money in the ground if it's going to be problematic. The tickets sales already have brought the club in over £10,000. It's probably better if they are all in the KG rather than the ground from 2.30pm.

It'll be a good test for the club seeing how the ground copes with a large crowd (the Play off final is slightly different as you had 2,500 neutrals who were happy to mill around/stand wherever.

I have slight reservations how the ground has been developed in recent years but I'm sure a few tweaks (using the far Golf Road end turnstiles rather than the near ones) will help it go smoothly as we did after all cope with Wrexham ok, a game I unfortunately missed.

With the above in mind, what is the old bar area now used for? I presume it still has toilets in it? I know it would need volunteers to make it work, but could that area be used as a snack/toilet facility for the stand, thus enabling the stand to be properly segregated from the home standing area?

All theoretical, I know, but I'm just brainstorming a bit.

The old bar is now a very nice large vice presidents lounge

2500 neutrals that means only around 1000 home fans, most were locals  probably with alty as their second team.

Here's hoping the away end gates aren't opened at the same time as ours!

Where's this come from? The gates at each end have been opened with 20 mins left for the last 30 odd years?

Or is it an in joke?

What ther scare mongering are you going to come up with next

Trust the club to consult with Tranmere the police local council etc to plan the match they have been doing it years

Normal practice to open all exits at the same time but when i have been involved in matches with large away followings
this has been done on police advice and sometimes the result can determine the outcome as well.

Brief resume of Gary Brabins Monday press conference.

Saturdays result has altered what we do in training this week
Lots of improvements to work on
Got a week to work on the training ground but would have been nice to do on back of a win
Teams will come here with 451 and when I say we are not ready its on the basis of a team going for automatic promotion and we are not that level yet
We rushed the play Saturday and we had desperation in our play
Early days we had a good start and you get carried away with the expectations
Once you get a goal it changes the opposition plans
We need to be patient in general play and passing and moving teams about
Instead we forced play all over the pitch

We have not got a large squad, which is purposely done so we know the areas we need to improve but we have had one or two knocks and with a free week on the training ground we can improve and recover one or two of those knocks

Margetts has knock on his knee and a bit of swelling
Norwood has some damage inside and he came back too early last time as he was too eager to play
Blissett was bombarded with longs balls when he came on but we need to be passing to him and using his pace to get behind teams
Important players have a voice as well especially after games, the passion is there to win so much that they can force the game some times
Got some good characters/voices in the dressing room
10 points out of 15 so we are on course so there is no panic
Expectation that there is a divine right to beat "unheard of teams" but it does not work like that
Blissett in for initially a month, was hard to judge him on the 30 mins he played Saturday
Grimsby have already lost at Altrincham so will be a tough game
Not sure as to whether Hogan will be back Saturday
No new arrivals imminent, we have our fingers on the pulse with a couple of players at the moment
Need to lift ourselves and learn from Saturday
The main area we are not ready is in the final third and injuries are not helping that
There is goals in the players we have here but we need to get them fit
If we are serious title contenders we need to better in the final third than any performance this season even the 4-1 win at Gateshead
At moment we think we are competitive and will be in and around but loads of room for improvement

On whether money is available

We are in a good position at the minute. I have purposely not overloaded the squad, it is important to me that this group of players gel together and as it goes on we will know where we need improvements and where we feel we need to get players in

Jake has been stop start in preseason due to injuries, he has been on the fringe for too long and needs games but played his 1st 90mins last week, potentially he may be loaned out to get games, in terms of fitness he is behind the other forwards
We can always do better we know that
Where we are now in terms of the squad we are delighted but we need to improve on the pitch
It is the end of the season that it counts
Looking forward to all our games and Saturday no different

Anyone could play 4 5 1 if the 1 were Aguero.

My point Phil is that it's not necessarily negative which brabin was implying
