Tom Marshall & Matt Christie Fund

Hi All,

As I'm sure you are all aware, both Tom Marshall and Matt Christie sustained a broken leg during games on Tuesday for the First Team & Reserve Team.
We have therefore set up a Go Fund Me page to try and raise some funds to cover their earnings whilst they are unable to work/play football and any treatment they may need during their rehabilitation.
The link to this page is: http://www.gofundme.com/8f25r568

Additionally, the bucket collection at Saturday's game against Tranmere will also go to this cause

Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated

Happy to contribute, but surely the club has purchased personal accident cover to cover such incidents. It may also be a requirement of the FA as well. I hope they have anyway, I would be gobsmacked if they haven't.

Hi Wayno, they will have (think it's an FA requirement) but it usually doesn't cover anywhere near the full amount.

Any such accident cover will probably cover their football earnings and any medical costs incurred but is unlikely to cover loss of earnings outside football.

Personal accident cover is either on a fixed benefit basis or multiple of salary. a claim would be made for temporary total disablement and would cover a percentage of salary, anywhere from 50% to 100% of salary. I would expect nothing less than 100% to be purchased, with benefit being paid to the football club under a group personal accident policy. I almost sound as though I know what I am talking about :-)

Having said this I will still contribute as it is terrible for both players and I really feel for them.

I am offering both of Tom's home shirt's for auction, and will replace once he return's to action. Both have all match logo's attached, as well as name, etc. Bids to the club, with all proceeds going to the fund.
