Aldershot - MATCH THREAD
« on: October 09, 2015, 08:13:04 AM »

Another big game on Saturday, Aldershot have only won two home games this season against Halifax and welling. They've conceded at least three goals in four of their last seven games, with only four National League sides conceding more than Aldershot Town’s 25 goals in this campaign so far. It was also a second consecutive 3-0 home loss in
Midweek, which continues a worrying trend. Since beating Dover Athletic 3-1 on 3 March, Aldershot Town have only won three of their last twelve home league outings. They’ve only managed twelve goals in those games, scoring more than once on just two occasions, whilst keeping just two clean sheets during that stretch.

Let's hope our upturn in away form continues. Always a tough place to go, and just hope any knocks players had have cleared up, without knowing who's fit, hard to pick a preferred starting 11

Watched them against FOR.  If Parkin had put away half his chances it would have been 7.

Having said that Aldershot were wasteful  in front of goal.

Think we need to keep if tight and just have 1 up front.  Couldn't possibly pick a team as I've no idea who's fit.

Would take a draw now.

It's a shame Aldershot aren't on a run of 12 consecutive wins, as it would be easier to predict an Alty win.

I never fancy us when we are the favourites, or are expected to win.

They looked to be abit feeble in midfield although if we don't get into them the midfield that is a bit feeble has abit of skill and pace

Time to kick start Lee's 20/20 vision by turning last year's 3-1 defeat into a 3-1 win.

We're not the bookies favourite, nor perhaps expecting a result due to history, but we are very good of late at ending runs, whether good or bad.

We can't play 4-4 f'ing 2! He had the chance to play a midfield of Richman, Moult and Lawrie with Bowerman and Clee as wide Players. Needs to change it before we go two down. We miss Rankine a lot!

Wasn't there but caught a very stuttery Radio Robbins (3G signal here not great) and followed the Twitter updates. Sounded like another appalling game for Alty where they had every chance of doing ok.

We were poor today in almost every department, they were not a great side although they do pass well and quickly, full time benefits I suppose. First 20 mins was 50-50 then we let them take charge, loads of poor balls and misplaced passes. The first goal was coming for a good 5 minutes, the second was due to a mish*t backpass from Griff who I really felt for, just one of those things, nice to see Scott pick him up and fair play to him, Griff finished the game well.
Otherwise, no real positives, the away support was good, if someone could enlighten me on the ginger wigs it would be appreciated. Quietest I've ever heard Aldershot fans though, it used to rock on that bank.

Edit. Deasy had a good game and kept the score down with a couple of excellent saves.
