I presume that, as with many previous FA Cup ties of this ilk at Moss Lane, main stand season ticket holders will be allowed a limited 'window of opportunity' to purchase a ticket for their regular seat.

Once this timespan has expired, any unclaimed seats would then be released onto open sale.

(I appreciate that some main stand season ticket holders' regular seats will have become part of the Barnsley allocation).

I was surprised to learn both that the main stand will be unsegregated and tickets are to be issued on an unreserved general admission basis.

I thought that the police wouldn't have been particularly keen on the first of those arrangements.

And I have no desire to find myself sitting next to Dickie Bird.

There's a tap in for someone there, but I'm not sure we have anyone so predictable to take it....

Isn't Parkie a Barnsley fan too? Someone could end up with a free pen......but if it's Alty we'll probably miss it!

I spoke to Dickie and suggested his team will be Puffin at the end of the game.. He thought the concession ticket prices were cheep.

I'm here all week   :D

Indeed, all the club says is from the J Davidson stadium - which bit? The community sports hall or the sponsors lounge offices?? Unless I've missed it.

Tonight, Tickets will be on sale from reception at the Sports Hall.

Tomorrow, once the bar is open, the tickets will be on sale in the hall itself.

As its a cup game its first come first sat down. The earlier you get there the more choice of seats you have!

I was just casting my mind back to previous times when main stand season ticket holders were allowed, say, 24 or 48 hours to claim their customary seat before any went on open sale.

It was a gesture which represented an acknowledgement of loyalty.

However, I believe that the tickets for the Barnsley match have not been individualised to show the row and seat number, so this renders the above rather tricky to process.

I have been advised that season ticket holders' seats are to be marked with stickers saying 'reserved' but, of course, there is no guarantee that everyone will honour such signs.

As for getting there early, I have told my wife that she will be camping outside the main stand turnstiles from next Friday evening and into the day of the match in order to ensure that I can secure first place in the queue when you open the doors.
