Farce

can we blame the ref though ?
I don't know, but I would still have taken Havern off when he was on a yellow.

Particularly if the ref was card happy, as 3 reds suggests

Absolute disaster!

Only thing to do on Sunday is attack.
Colchester let in another 5 today, maybe all out attack is a blessing in disguise?

There must be a list of free agent centre backs/right backs who would be only too happy for another go on such a big stage. There must also be players out of favour at clubs already out of the competition who are not cup-tied. As bad as Colchester may be, we may struggle with what we have available unfortunately.

Crowther has never played on the right, so I dont know why you propose it every week

The rest of your team looks right (we have no other options), but Lawrie will be on the right and Rankine up front with Reeves

why have we not strengthened, we should have done as soon as we beat Chester

I am sure there plenty of free agents, but everyone has a price

Too light in the middle playing two upfront, Crowther is right footed, two wingers gives more attacking impetus but still bodies to work in the middle. Hopefully we might get hold of some free agents in the week, we've no other option with loan window being shut. Centre backs shouldn't be to hard to get hold of.

Wasn't at the game so can't comment on sendings-off etc. With regard to next week - I believe I'm right in thinking that no loans can be made at this stage? also, when is the deadline for eligibility for a Cup-tie (some competitions it has in the past gone right to the day before, others as much as a week in advance) in the case of free agents?
Assuming no signings are possible, a starting line-up looks to me like this:
Deasy
Sinnott - Leather - Heathcote - Griffin
Bowerman - Richman - Moult - Crowther
Lawrie
Reeves
(alternative - Lawrie plays right, Bowerman behind Reeves)
I base this on the conviction that neither Clee nor Rankine is fit enough for more than 30 minutes tops.
Subs - Williams, Rankine, Clee, Swift, Davis, Stouppis; Densmore might have to be named to make up seven but I don't imagine he'd be a serious candidate to play at this point. There really is nobody else.
Colchester let another five in today, having been one up at Burton - so I suppose there's always hope, but 'to lose one player is unfortunate, to lose two looks like carelessness' (a thought loosely based on Oscar Wilde!).

Are you basing centre backs being easy to get hold of on a GH comment that they're ten a penny?!
