Trophy 1st Round
« on: November 28, 2015, 06:57:11 PM »

The draw is Monday. As far as I know this round is regionalised (North & South).
The following are the Northern qualifiers from today (17 ties):
Telford
Solihull
Leamington
Stourbridge
Curzon
Marine or Kidsgrove or Burscough
Tamworth
Gainsborough or Ashton
Worcester
Chorley or Skem
Fylde
Buxton or Bradford PA
Matlock
Nuneaton
Sutton Coldfield
Stocksbridge
Nantwich
The northern draw could include the following from our division (13 clubs):
Tranmere
Wrexham
Chester
Macc
Southport
Gateshead
Lincoln
Grimsby
Guiseley
Alty
Halifax
Barrow
Kidderminster
Any preferences? I would rather avoid anyone from our own league - & the West Midlands contingent too, to be honest - but what do other people think?

100% disagree, would rather play a Tranmere or Grimsby at home, that the type of game we get results in, and we know their ilk disregard the trophy

We can't beat lower league teams, proven many many times

Agree with you. I feel more confident playing the better sides. An ex league club at home is winnable and the gate would be a little better.

Perhaps Halifax. Despite their improvement I still think they're eminently beatable and may not prioritise a trophy run.

Be a good marker as to where we're at in terms of improving from that sh*t-show against them earlier in the season.

Only if they put a decent team out.  I don't think they would in all honesty.  Personally I'll just be happy with a home draw.
