We started brightly for 10 minutes.  After that we were dreadful, lumping balls up to Rankine,  who won nothing against McNulty.

Whole game  changed when Clee replaced Rankine  (who I thought was abysmal at best) & Lawrie played behind Reeves.

Whether we get new faces in or not we have to beat Chester.
.

Missed the opening 10 minutes owing to the Cheshire Oaks gridlock.

We rather played into McNulty's hands by hoofing it up in the air in the general direction of a manifestly out-of-sorts Rankine.

Both Leather and Deasy were equally culpable for their goal, in my eyes.

We were a revelation when Rankine was withdrawn iin favour of Clee and Lawrie suddenly came alive in a more central role and caused problems by running at the mediocre Tranmere defence.

Quite how we failed to equalise from one of those numerous chances is still perplexing me.

Didn't make it today but... This season will be defined by the failure to improve the squad since the start of the awful injuries we have had. Bringing players back before they are properly fit is not the way to consolidate our place in this league. Playing half fit players isn't the way . The clock is now ticking. Doing nothing is not an option.
the actual first 11 not squad has not been improved since we got promoted maybe deasey for stu,and richman and moult are vastly improved maybe we haven't the money but man for man it's a fact.

Repeatedly we have been better with Lawrie in behind Reeves.

We deserved at least a point yesterday against full time and in my opinion overpaid opposition, but they have good support with over 5,000 attending. Frustrating that 1 mistake in defense is punished. Personally I would have had a 5 man midfield starting yesterday with Lawrie in behind Reeves, when we did this finally yesterday we looked much more dynamic but could not get the ball in the net.

I would consider starting Clee, and see if we can get our nose in front for a change before we need to replace him during the game. Just a thought.

Lets hope for better fortune against Chester.

Should have got a point. TR looked a limited outfit to me and I'd be amazed if they are in the promotion shake up come April, and we really should have capitalised on our second half display. Deasy for me has to be quicker off his line for their goal. I thought our support in terms of numbers of 272 wasn't great either, thought we'd have more like 350ish. Very impressive ground but far too big for them. Can't imagine they got anywhere near filling it even in the FL.

Locals friendly enough and enjoyed an excellent day on the ales in Liverpool and on the Peninsula. Ultimately though it's another gallant defeat away at one of the big boys, wouldn't matter as much if we could put sides away at Moss Lane, Chester a big big game now.

Tranmere fans singing our praises on Facebook and Twitter. We gave a great account of ourselves in that department yesterday despite the numbers, I was expecting 300 at a minimum.

Agree Deasy slow off his line for goal , but he pulled off several vital saves during rest of game , we really have to take the chances when they come , its not just this season it's happened we were the same last season to .
