Lincoln - Match thread
« on: February 10, 2016, 10:33:12 AM »

First time Lincoln have been to moss lane on a Saturday since the 80s so we should see a sizeable away following in attendance as lincoln look to force their way in to the playoffs, that coupled with our first Saturday league game since November should lead to a decent crowd

Looking at Saturday's fixtures if we can get a result of sorts we could really improve our position

Cheltenham v Welling
Grimsby v Borehamwood
Halifax v FGR
Woking v Guiseley

.....................Deasy
Sinnott....Leather....Holness..Griffin
Crowther....Moult...Richman..Ginnelly
..................Margetts..Rankine

Thought we started really well last night, however if Saturday's game follows a similar pattern as last night Id like to hope we shuffle things around earlier. We have a decent record at Lincoln, let's hope we can transfer that to moss lane on Saturday

Altrincham 2-1 Lincoln

Line up is fine, but if not performing as per last night second half then we need to make changes up top.

Lets hope your prediction is true, will take that. Statistically they are around the same team as Wrexham, so lets show them how we know we can play football.

Tough assignment but I also see 1-1. But 2-1 would make me delighted.

No doubt an early decision needed to stop Chester travelling down (Torquay would probably be liable for overnight stay costs as well as transport costs).
As for our game - I feel uneasy about this one. Hope I'm wrong, but just at the moment I feel as if a point would be a bonus.

Anyone on here know the rules about payments to opposition clubs for postponed games ?

Someone suggested on an earlier post we could be liable for Dover's airfares and Mike mentions above the cost of an overnight stay.........Both could be a possibility, but I reckon both of these could be hard to manage in terms of 'rules'. For example would there be a limit on the amount of players you are expected to finance (squad size), would there be a limit on maximum room costs and do we pay for breakfast?

I reckon there will be something simple in place, like we pay for the coach return journey at £x per mile, calculated via 'AA Routefinder'

Apologies for going off topic here

Hoping we can perform today and get something out of the game........I would maybe start Lawrie today behind Rankine (only because Reeves cannot play there) and let Henry have more than a 5 minute cameo

Thanks Bob
So open to interpretation in several areas

8.3.6 In the event of a match having to be postponed and one Club is found to be at fault then opponents for that
match shall be compensated by the Club at fault.

In the case of a visiting Club where it has undertaken all or part
of its journey then travelling expenses and meal allowances may be claimed based on the total mileage involved
in the whole journey.

In exceptional circumstances, expenses for overnight accommodation up to a maximum of
18 persons may be claimed. In some instances compensation may also be claimed when neither of the Clubs is
at fault. The Board will determine the amount of compensation payments to be made, if any.

All claims for compensation by either Club in the case of either an abandoned match or a postponed match must be received
by the General Manager within 14 days of the date of the match to which the claim relates.

Much will depend on how we handle Rhead.

Hope Motley-Henry starts on a wing.

Would take a point.

Superb closing down from Damian, as well as some clown like goalkeeping for our equaliser.

A bit funky that game with plenty of goals and fouls so it ended up stop-start but plenty of action.
Lincoln played to their strengths (physical bulk) and put a lot of aerial pressure on our defence and Holness deserved MoM for dealing with a lot of it. Ranks does a similar job for us at the other end so hopefully he's back on Tuesday.
Ryan Crowther again very good in first half with plenty of energy and 2 good assists. Great closing down by Reevesie for the third to capitalise on frankly comedic goalkeeping by Farman doing keepy-ups on his 6 yard line.
Hopefully we can turn these draws into wins in the next couple of home games..
