Sounds odd but I think our best bet is boreham wood beating guisley as I think they will deffo beat welling last day.  Meaning we need to put a few past welling and hope macc do us a favour at halifax

We would still need Guiseley to fail to defeat Torquay at home in their final game though.

even then we would need Torquay to win at Guiseley as well AND for us to win at Braintree

Would a draw, not be the best result?  Would leave BW on 45 and Guiseley on 47 still theoretically catchable with a four goal swing.

That way if BW lose or draw on the final day then 2 wins would go above them.

If Guiseley lose on final day, we would go above them with a 4 goal swing in the final 2 games.

I'm clutching at straws for as long as possible......!

I'd say that hoping for even one point from an away fixture against a side in the playoff places, who've already stuffed us 0-4 at home, is akin to believing in Father Christmas.

I've not even taken the time to look at who plays who, and think about different scenarios and points tallies. I'm just not arsed anymore.

Yes Eastleigh's draw at Halifax did us no favours aside from giving a point. It means now that even if Eastleigh were to win and Braintree lose this Saturday Brsintree would still be well within a shout come next week.

This is the most academic post I've ever put on here though...

I clutch at straws every week when I buy a lottery ticket, but I have no more belief in winning the lottery than I do in us staying up (oh how I want to be proved wrong).

This does all appear academic and probably the sooner the  last rites are finally administered the better. This truly has been death by a thousand cuts.

It's more likely that The Pope is in fact the Antichrist and that Donald Trump is the risen saviour.
