Can I go back to working on the bar and get one of irene's (the best ever) steakwich sandwiches  for my staff meal.

Riley's could become a clothing factory

enough this nostalgia is leading us away from the true cause

But we do need the thing in brackets on the programme just under the price" Best Value for Money in Non League".

Also bring back the Hawkers advert on the front page.

Sorry, not trying to get post numbers up artificially but I have to agree with Mr Gazelle about the Steak Sandwiches in the Moss too :) :) :)

Gazelle
I have to disagree as, in my opinion, real sustained glory will only come with yes, red shorts, but also at least 5 players with statesmanlike moustaches and/or beards, the token long haired layabout on the bench, a curly perm at centre half, and the return of the double decked 299 Timperley circular.

I'd say real sustained glory is therefore unlikely, as single deckers are all the rage at present, and for the foreseeable future.

True enough. Besides we'd need to get rid of Geoff and his coaches and reinstate the Godfrey Abbott Group for away travel.

The Gazelle asks for hard facts to back up his campaign. I remain neutral on this issue as the following proves it don't matter what we wear as long as it's not grey. If anything I think white shorts is more nostalgic and aesthetical.

Vs Everton I can confirm red shorts were worn.

However Vs Spurs (1-1) away we wore white shorts red tops..in the replay we wore white shorts with red and white tops.
The black yellow of the shaun constable visit were less lucky at white hart lane.

In the Leatherhead trophy run we wore the Sheff Utd kit with black shorts.

In the Runcorn final I'm pretty sure we wore the black shorts.

Vs Birmingham we wore the red and black stripes with black shorts

Vs Chester we wore black shorts.

Thourghout the showler and Nicky dawes year we wore black shorts (rolled at the top to make them extra tight)

Jackie Swindells always wore red shorts.

I'm afraid the days of yesteryear have been ruined by todays nanny state....the perms wish for double deckers was quashed by the fact they discriminate against the disableds and red shorts have also been banned by this New Labour disgrace although govt statistics show, black shorts are quite lucky for us.

(It appears that memory has twisted the facts i still feel the whole set up was better with red shirts
and as been pointed out perms and taches. is the godfrey abbot thing also an urban myth.
certainly shearings to birmingham. train to wembley 78 cant remember who in 82 but club coaches and we did fill the whole void behind the back seat with beer cans 86 was finglands and a bill for two broken seata following a drink and drug fueled orgy there and back. you can thank god you didnt run that one Ecky.Early 80's was primarliy selwyns. but none can beat roger palmers dad enos and godfrey abbott.
299 to stores corner always a double decker but i was a 41 or laterly a 241 boy me self to the cemetry. my double deckerdness was satisfied by the 108 or 99 and 371. our gang ran the back seat onthe 108 for many a year.

How about bringing back power cuts and weekday afternoon kickoffs Blackburn and the little discussed loss to TOwyn? so we can all wag sschool

The 99 crew were infinetely superior to the 108 though.

Wasn't the afternoon trophy defeat to Pwhelli......think that's how its spelt? Did we wear red shorts that day?

Red shorts! I've been bangimg on about that for ages, but we also need the white socks and Rogersons Pies from Broadheath (sadly the bakery is long gone)

Also we need a real high profile friendly vs Man U or similar. Who can forget stuffing full strength Man City (Steve Daley and all) for the testimonial for Stan, SD, JO and Mucky Brick? Full house, City played hard but never threatened.

One good fixture, early season before Champs league gets serious.
6,000 tickets @ £20, only with 3 alty league game tokens... yep go for the money - great launch pad for promotion push.

pwthhelli it was indeed i get confused with these small welsh seaside resorts its my age you know.
rogersons pies will be a must, when the bring back red shorts nostaglgia party are in power,  but they have to be the 10p ones after half time and be sold by andy vickers out of a mars bar box in the golf road we could eat them along with Hot Vimto and curly wurlies.

When we win the election
i am going to be Primeminister/president/ ayatollah

Derek kennerley for chancellor of the exchequers (can you see what ive done there)
Dave Baldwin can be Home secretary
Denis birch foreign secretary
Enos palmer minister of transport
Graham sports minister
John king defence minister

any other nominations for my cabinet
