Commission of sorts
« on: April 24, 2016, 10:13:28 PM »

Last night I asked the club's board if they would offer commission if fans were more pro-active in attracting investment.

Would it make your more likey to speak to mates or work colleagues as potential sponsors - whether it be a new matchbox sponsor or a stand sponsor- if there was an official scheme in place to reward you taking the initiative?

A) Yes if it was cash
B) Yes, but not cash - perhaps a seat in the sponsor lounge for a game, or a free match day entry
C) It wouldn't motivate me more

On your options Jack, you should put
D) I will do my best to get investment for the club, without any commission.

Why would a true supporter want commission??

If it's only true supporters who attract investment we'll get very little.

Think outside the box.

Gareth,
The question said if 'fans'.
If you are a fan, why would you want commission ?
It's just like all the volunteers the club has.
They give their time and effort for nothing.
They would want every penny going to the club.
I'm sure you would as well.t
Ps....this has been read 122 times and only 6 people have voted!!!!!
I still think there should be an option D).

Yep. Without wanting to sound like a snob, the main incentive for me would be to aid the growth of the club; I wouldn't be doing it in the hope of bagging a free season ticket or something.

I think those who can, will. Regardless of commission incentives. The club would be throwing money away.

We average say 1000 fans. Some of these fans will want their club to progress and will do everything they can. However,  not every one of these is a die hard fan of the club.

It isn't what you know it is who you know. So what incentive is there for a casual floating fan to start asking his neighbour or boss or friend to consider sponsoring something ?

If you don't look at new Wells,  eventually you run out of oil.

Also if such scheme were to exist fans could have an option to turn it down.

People say it's chucking money around. But essentially it's money they may not have already had.
