Chris Senior released by Halifax

Along with a couple of others, no surprise when you need £11k to cover March and Aprils payment let alone the cva/

Jimmy, do the honours with the click on link thing will you.

Suppose Chris knew he'd be released and now has a decision to make, does he stay full time? There may not be a full time offer available to him. If he wants to stay in the conference then there are a number of part time clubs who would have him who are closer to his home, Droylsden for one, possibly Farsley Celtic for another, both would trump our wages for sure particularly Farsley who seem to have money to spend (Ryan Sugden, Craig Midgley, Carl Serrant). In the Conf North, the likes of Harrogate and Hyde might want him.

I see they've kept Steve Torpey though. ;)

i hope we can convince him to sign with us just what we'd need what ever league we start in come august. maybe bush can convince him that the ex halifax full time now alty part time isn't as big a step down as it sounds (to a full time player that is).

I wonder if any of the other released players can be tempted?

Gus Uhlenbeek, exactly the type of over paid piss taking journeyman ex pro we don't want.

Greg Young, ditto to a lesser extent, regarded as old and slow.

Shane Smeltz overated and scored 1 goal in 31 conference appearances.

Senior - good player for us would be a good addition to the squad.

BUT surely the main focus should be improving the defense - especially left back.

Shane Shmeltz is an excellent finisher as a striker but is fairly easily muscled out of the game if it is physical .Not the sturdiest of players. Also as a NZ international there are windows when he is unavailable. Saw the bloke play loads of times for AFC Wimbledon. The Ryman was for me his level.
