Sad to see nicky go been great for this club but injury prone

Also sorry to see deasy go

This man means buisness like it
Displaying his usual managerial trait. Get rid of the majority and to quote the poster on the Chester forum, "chop and change until he's happy with the balance".
I just hope his dealings in the transfer market are better this summer than they were at County last year.
your right of course has to fill the gaps now

Shame to see Deasy, Clee and Sinnott go... I think keeping Lawrie is a good shout as long as NY can get him playing like we all know he can. Not sure about keeping Ranks though

Lawrie?  One of the most inconsistent soft players. He better put several rockets up his arse. Gutted about Clee, I would have seen if he could have got back fit as even in his last appearance at Chester when half fit he was still destroying players until his groin snapped. I would have kept Luca too because he is decent alongside Leather, they just never played much together last season. Still a decent defender but maybe on a high wage. The rest are correct decisions.

Interesting that a word that seems to crop up about Lawrie is inconsistent. He seemed to be remarkably consistent last season (awful). Astonished that he has been retained. Plus it means we are likely to have a midfield that includes both Richman and Lawrie. Jesus.

He must have a very good keeper lined up to release Tim.
Masha and Clee are our 2 best players - IF FULLY FIT and that is the concern.
I think Lawrie will be better at CN level and with tougher, bigger players around him.
I also have a gut feeling that Rankine will very good at CN level - AGAIN IF FULLY FIT.
We know that there is a budget cut - but we don't know what the players released were on or would command.

I would have expected Rankine to be one of the highest earners so surprised we're able to offer him something. I'd also be surprised if he will be prepared to lower himself to play in the Conference North.

I'm a bit concerned in all honesty. Some of those released players are more than good enough.

Me too. Don't know on what basis NY has reached these decisions. Has he watched us live, video highlights etc. WHAT

Well done Neil Young, I think he's me the right decision in cutting so many players. We needed a refresh and that is what we are going to get. He will be judged on results and so it's important he is able to bring in hIs own players. Lawrie may prove the doubters wrong. The manager's hands are tied by budget and players physical condition can be a huge part in whether players are kept or not. Let's all get behind the manager, it's only Day 5 after all.

clearly physical condition didn't play a part in the Rankine decision!

Oh I don't know, after seeing the way he shot off down that tunnel on Saturday, he's obviously a lot fitter and faster than I had him down for!

I think he said in his initial interview with flynnie that fitness levels will be paramount prior to the season start. I expect Mr Rankine and company will be putting in quite a bit of running/ fitness training in jun/jul so that they can strip a lot leaner come the pre season friendlies

We don't know that Rankine is staying. NY may have thought that replacing decent strikers is difficult, but who knows may only want to keep 1 of them but not sure who wants to stay, or which 1 he can keep hold of, if any.
