Research on Policing at Football
« on: May 06, 2016, 03:15:31 PM »

Dear all,

Given that research is finding a more sanitised and gentrified culture of British football (see: https://www.academia.edu/18862556/Football_Fans_Views_of_Violence_in_British_Football_Evidence_of_a_Sanitized_and_Gentrified_Culture), I am hoping you could spare a few minutes to share your views on policing at football:

https://leeds.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/policing_football

Thanks in advance.

Anyone who went to Barnet should have something to say on this.

Accusing an Alty fan of doing coke in the toilet because there were some paint flecks on the hand dryer.  ;D

I'm in London, one of the worlds greatest cities, carnaby street, Soho, Camden Town all nearby. I could snort coke off a models body. Why on earth would I travel out to an industrial estate near Edgeware to sniff cocaine in a toilet and pay over the odds to watch a poor football team get comprehensively battered?

I've never done drugs incidentally but even I can see the situation isn't compatible to motivations for it.

It was ridiculous!

Anyone remember the policing at Oxford ?  took my old dad and daughter and we had to "hide behind closed doors" in the stadium whilst the police insisted nothing was happening when phoned  ::) Oxford didn't help but then again it never happened  :P

I seen allsorts at non-league grounds, I guess it's a day out on double pay for some, big fan of the police in most aspects (especially that bloke on the drums)

The Policing operation that day at Barnet the most incompetent and OTT I've seen in 30 years of watching Alty. I was glad they went up as I would have had serious reservations about going there again.
