We could do with it being off again if Patterson and Cyrus are still ill. I'll be going, expecting nothing, as has been the case for weeks. Will
This Blyth sending off count on Tuesday or will some antiquated administration system mean he's available on Tuesday?

I can't go but would if I lived locally.

Being buggered at home by the Macc smackheadz ain't on my wish list, so I think I'm in the horribly horrible VILE position of preferring us not to win.

I too could cry.

Can't go due to work and very thankful for that, otherwise I might be tempted to waste my time and money driving from West Lancs.

I could go if I wanted but I won't bother. I'd probably get more enjoyment out of pulling out my toenails with a pair of pliers.

As I said last week, the attendance figure for this game should be quite revealing, since it's "all pay". If it's another bitterly cold night, we'll be lucky to break 300 in my opinion.

The potential for a low attendance record was brought up on a previous thread by the esteemed Cult. Not only is the 355 v Leamington last year 'at risk', but the 268 at Curzon for the replayed tie (after the power cut on the Saturday) could be under threat. I believe that's the lowest ever gate for a Trophy tie involving Alty, but will check my records to be on the safe side. I will be there - if only because I've given my word that I'll man the TASC table before the game & at half-time - but hell, I know I'm insane ...
[* Further research shows three lower crowds - all away - 222 @ Gateshead in 2003 (2nd Qual), 235 @ Bishop Auckland in 2000 (3rd Qual) & 257 @ Burscough in 1998 (3rd Qual)]

I will go, in the vain hope we can get a win.

Hope that Pattison is available and the players chosen play in there best position. Its a cup game so we have a chance.

Can't decide if I can be bothered to travel the 54 miles each way from Shropshire for this given the really dire performances. Might come to catch up with friends if nothing else but am not really expecting much from the football.

Can't go due to coaching and family commitments - I am not boycotting, honestly!

JH seems to have the knack for Cup Football (he is, after all, defending the trophy his team won last year), so maybe the much needed win will come tonight. A draw offers the less than enticing prospect of a mid-December trip to Blyth (do I remember a mysterious Conference North postponement at this time of year in Lee Sinnott's time?) so a definite result one way or the other would be good. We are right down the bare bones because of eligibility issues - if the sick and the lame are not all fit again it seems to me we could even have Alfreton-style issues about fielding a full bench (which says a lot more about NY than it does about JH, by the way).

Still, despite it all, the right team selection, intelligent use of substitutes (however few we might have) and a positive attitude to keep going forward to the end even if we are winning narrowly should see us through tonight. There is a first time for everything! I shall look forward to hearing the cheers for our goals from what passes for the crowd through my patio doors!
